Safest mining locations?
I never done mining, but need to grind 500t for that demanding engineer, wheres the safest area usually with minimum interruption from npcs? belts around stars? RES? random belt around gas giant by manually supercruising there?
Im planning to do it in a type7 or dropship.

Just find an asteroid belt that suits you and drop in anywhere that is not RES (you want safe mining, right?). I usually boost for 10-20km because sometimes some NPC will come and scan right after a drop from framshift. That's it

Outside the bubble is probably the safest and all resources are pristine there.

First: Don't go in any Resource Extraction Site, you will encounter only nuisance.
Second: After you enter the belt you need to move far away from the point you have dropped and keep an eye on the scanner. If you see some target on the radar you need to go out from their sensor range, or (depending from your ship) fight them, after that you can mine without concerns no one will spawn again.

Usually NPC pirate don't shots you if all you have in the cargo hold is just drones.

Delkar is the spot you're looking for, pristine, metal/metal rich ring, hazardous res site in inner planet ring ... all you have to do is get 40-50+ Km away of the res site once you drop in and here you go enjoy free rich mining spot and the +bonus ? insanely close to Shinrarta dezhra few jumps away of selena

edit : if you prefer empire space go for system Jura

Often an NPC will follow you in even outside a RES. Its fine as long as you are only carrying limpets.

After you drop in, wait a couple of mins for an NPC to drop in. If one does, wait for it to scan you then leave. Then you are free to mine.

thanks all

I usually enter a RES and then run 30-40k away from the nav marker.
9 times out of 10 I'm left to mine in peace there.
