Please change the friendly fire rules.
I'm hoping the developers occasionally read these forums, because the rules regarding friendly fire need an adjustment.

It makes no sense that a single accidental laser shot on a clean NPC in a fight warrants my death. Infact, the Feds took my shot so seriously they abandoned their pursuit of a pirate Anaconda, and a dropship just to right my wrong. The player needs to get a fine or a friendly fire warning, not serve up death for a tiny error.

I've seen a lot of people complain about this since the beta, please change it Frontier. Pls.

Options are Learn trigger discipline, or get the engineer mods that we're implemented to prevent friendly fire.
When you have a good rep in a system, I've notice the odd stray shot is more tolerated.

I'm fully allied with the feds/governing party, so in theory they'd have a bit of leeway. Trigger discipline is really the only fix, and that's the way it is right now. I just think it's something that would make a lot of sense to change

I have to disagree, a world where bounty hunters with laser weapons don't require trigger discipline seems one that needs changing to me.

Just try not to get tunnel Vision, be aware of your radar and where friends and allies are :)

You should get a bit of leeway if you are allied, thing is if you ever hit a shieldless ship thats damage and thats a big "NO"

You cause damage your allies will light you up like a bonfire!

I killed an Elite Conda the other day for a poxy 200creds... the rules are the same for all you see! NPC and people.

If you accidently hit someone and you can't/won't kill the cops just bug out,

On a side note somthing I think should be changed is the NPC target ordering, when they are fighting a mass murderer with 200k+ bounty they shouldn't turn and ignore them to go after the guy who slapped them! You should have the amount of time it takes the cops to finish their previous target before they come kill you! That I think would be fair :D

They're the law, and you're just a filthy no discipline bounty hunter:)

Another thread about basically "I'm not used to friendly fire, make the game the way I'm used to pls".

Actually you know what happens if cops or other NPC shoot at me?

I kill them!

I can't remember a single person ranting about being accidently shot who was also defending the "no friendly fire" rules on other threads.... think you are making this up!

Be careful what you ask for. Are you sure you really want the whole police wing turning "enemy" for you the moment one of them accidentally shot at you? :)

Although I can't prove it, I've seen npcs with 200 or 400 cr bounties on their heads, which is consistent with friendly fire incidents.

Also seen it, in res sites where a ship who was not wanted seems to have tagged an innocent or the police and then comes under fire from the police and when I end their suffering I get a tiny bounty reward consistent with friendly fire

OP, it used to be worse but it was changed long ago. Now you can rattle them slightly and just get a warning. Go full on and you will become wanted, then you need to jump out as fast as possible. Some weapons will cause damage faster so you need to be careful. Keep an eye on that radar and feds that are attacking your target. Takes a little practice but after a while you will be fine. I hit a fed by accident last week and had to jump out, first time in over a year and I do a lot of shooting.. Practice is all.

Devs don't read here often, although the Community Manager does.

However, this topic has been raised many times, here, on reddit, and the official forums. As far as we can tell, FD are happy with the current implementation.

Yes, I have learnt this lesson.. one wrong shot =quick death. It might be unfair and makes it DANGEROUS, like the subtiutle refer to hehe, but it makes you learn to shoot and engage targets responsibly. I only have 6 turrets that dont miss, ever. I can also confirm that being in a system where you are aliied with controlling faction, makes little mistakes less serious and you will get away with some minor issues :)
