Where can I get better hardpoints?
Just wondering where I can get more lethal hardpoints? I have 2 medium and 2 small "2F" burst lasers on my Cobra, but I would like to get some more deadly ones so I can do more effective bounty hunting.

Where do I find better ship upgrades?

Thanks! :D

The Cobra has 2 medium and 2 small hardpoints, you can't add more to it.

So with 2 medium bursts and 2 small bursts, you are at your limit. Personally, i'd change the small bursts to small beams and the medium hardpoints it put medium MCs or canons on them, or possibly missiles.

But that's all you can do in terms of stock items.

If you have Horizons, you can also visit Engineers, and perform different upgrades on them.

The dweller can do some upgrades on lasers. He's fairly easy to access as well. You just have have to have dealt with 5 black markets, and then give him 500,000, and he will be willing to deal with you.

Ah, ok. Thanks!

Edit:

Wait, so I can't get better class versions of these weapons? I.e, can I not get a 3F version?

There are Only one of each weapon type for each size of hard point, it can be confusing but it's not like other ship modules where you have A through to E

At. EDDB under "stations" you enter your current system. Then in the upper field you can enter all the stuff you are searching for your ship. Then hit the button. It will show you a list of all Systems/Stations wich are selling the wanted modules. Sorted by distance.
You have then to look for the nearest jump distance and the distance from the star to the station. If both are low. Go there.

you can fly to an engineer though and put grade 1 to 5 damage mods onto those weapons and quadruple the damage...

Buy a Vulture. It may only have two large hardpoints but you will be able to outmaneuver any other ship while doing massive amounts of damage with the right weapons. Start with two large burst lasers and work your way up to a pair of plasma acceleraters.

I was actually looking at going to a vulture next. I'm half-way there for buying it but is it really worth it? I have heard that its a very good combat ship but pretty bad at everything else.

it is well worth it as a combat ship! And soo much fun! But for anything else get an Asp at that range...

I've been enjoying bounty hunting in my Cobra at RES spots so I guess a vulture would be perfect for that?

Yes. Vulture is the answer for you.

Ok vulture it is :)

Vulture is absolutely ideal for RES hunting. It's tough, easy to fly, well armed, and the perfect choice for your first Engineer modded ship. It'll serve you well until you can afford something really bad ass, like a Federal Assault Ship or a Fer de Lance.
