Elite Dangerous

Elite Dangerous

Any good easter eggs in ED?
I would personally like to encounter the Red Dwarf ship and be able to blow it up and loot it :)

Has anyone seen anything out of the ordinary that might be classed as an Easter Egg in Elite Dangerous? and also what would be your ultimate easter egg if you were making the game

There is a George Lucas station, but I didn't see any associated Star Wars lore associated with it. :steamsad:

They have a rare good called "meta-chlorian" and theres a "Jar-Jar's Folly" on a planet nearby. Theres also "Ruined Star Wars Terminal" in the system. They only sell broken dreams and there's a huge line to get in.

Station is a dependable source of biowaste...
when your ship gets scanned by a UA, if you decode the signal it looks like a polygon drawing of the ship from the 1984 version.

These are all awesome . The game is so large it calls out for thousands of easter eggs to keep us all chuggling as we grind through the ranks. I love this game!! I still wana know what the Annoucer Voice at Wakata is based on, im sure he is some old TV show or movie comedian but have no clue as to who he is.
He's like "Disobeyment of the rules will be dealt with most harshly..." and more funny stuff that I cant remember

They sell blue milk there if I'm not mistaken.
At LHS 3006 there is a starport called Leonard Nimoy Station which orbits the planet Vulcan. This is a tribute to Leonard Nimoy the actor who played Spock in the original Star Trek series, to honour him when he passed away on Febuary 27th 2015.

Also when using a docking computer during the process a song plays the Blue Danube by Jonhann Straus II, which references to a scene in the film 2001 Space Odyssey in which during the docking process the same song was played.

There are probably more easter eggs out there, but these are a few that stand out to me.
In Asellus Primus there is also a station called Beagle 2 Landing, which was named in tribute to British scientist Colin Pillinger who worked on the Beagle 2 Mars lander (he died during alpha/beta stage of the game):

...franz ferdinand reference?

Ace!

Lets keep a catalogue of references here from now on people :D
Just been to Kobayashi Base in Gamma-1 Volantis.

Not only a high five to trekkies, but a metric-♥♥♥♥ ton of rez's close to hand and the outpost looks like it strays damn close, if not into the gas giants ring on it's orbit around the moon at some point.

Unfortunately Ithe outpost was on the other side of the moon when I landed.
