how do i find my wingman?

i have a spacially challlenged wingman. Hes always running an errand somewhere when i get asked to "come help me kill this ship". but he has no idea where in the solar system he is.

i tried using the hotkey to select my wingman but he is usually too far away.
other than following him around everywhere how do i find him when he needs help??

look on the map if you are in a different system... besides I think It shows under his symbal where he is...

also he should just drop a beacon for you when he needs your help...

Your wingmate can enable a wing beacon through the Friends/Wings/Commanders tab of the contacts panel, or through the functions tab on the right hand panel. This will let you see your wingmate's location from anywhere, provided you are in the same system. And also allows you to drop to him once within 3Mm of the signal.
