Longitude and latitude
I'm trying to find a point on a planet using the longitude and latitude. How do I do so?

Look at the numbers at the bottom of your right HUD indicator (where you usually see a primary weapons group list). First two lines are your coordinates, the third one is the planet's gravity at your current altitude.

Fly in one direction and see what coordinates change, and in what direction (increasing or decreasing). Change your heading so you have those numbers change towards your desired coordinates. Fly until your numbers match the coordinates. Higher you fly - faster they change. 3 numbers after a point precision is enough - you can go visual and find your point of interest by looking around.

In case you are looking for something in an old guide: You can just map the surface using a detailed surface scanner. This will create nav points you can target and fly to.

There are also some handy third party tools as well. The ED G19s Companion app allows you to enter coordinates for driving on a planet and it points which direction you should go. This also works when you enter orbital cruise in your ship.
