Evil White Dwarfs
Did they try to kill you? How many times? Do you hate them? Do you think they are evil by nature? How do you deal with them?

I deal with them by absorbing their sweet star juices and using it to Jump vast distances

hehe, i went for a spin in one....throttled down/restored control

Smashed cockpit and sitting there trying to get out of it waiting for my ship to explode

I deal with them like with any other star. Stay out of their exclusion zone. They are perfectly safe to be around. Just make sure to charge your FSD at the end of the jets and throttle down or at least point away from the star. The small boost isn't really worth it anyway though in my opinion. Stick with neutron stars for boosting.

My Anaconda can jump +-72ly, with neutron boost it is around 288ly. Which is very nice.

Them white dwarfs be nice, cuddly even. It's their meaner big brothers I dread I might meet (kind of, not decided yet). So x4 the distance supercharging, maybe mid level FSD injection +50%, that would be x6 distance in one jump (about 300Ly), maybe enough to reach the next neutron star. X8 would be nicer, sadly you'd have to do a ton of rover mining to get the stuffs... can I buy them (yttrium, polonium, etc)?

A white dwarf violated one of my crew members and he had to take medical leave off my ship to recover from the trauma. Those things are evil.

White Dwarfs usually create some of the most bizarre systems in the game, Death Spiral being perhaps the most famous, or the (I think) Dryau Awesomes. For some reason These sytems are habitually volatile for the Stellar Forge.

I believe it feels the same.

On my way to Colonia, I visited many Neutron Stars, from thin ones to "laser show" ones. All of them were quite tame and calm, never had an accident. Most White Dwarfs are fine, but there are some, with quite big exclusion zone, almost nearing end of the jet cone. If you misjudge approach vector a bit, or too hasty, you can easily fall into it, and then you'll have real fun time, haha.

I fell in White Dwarf twice so far. Once on Viper MKIV, but managed to jump out with some crazy luck, and the next time, quite recently, with Python, but I already knew what to do, and survived with a bit of luck and effort. Surprisingly enough, when I dropped there in Viper, my modules were being damaged quite slow, and most damage I was getting from overheating due to FSD charge. But on Python my modules started degrading very-very quickly. I lost canopy in less then 30 secs, and FSD was almost dead soon after, while I barely was getting any heat damage at all. That felt strange...

What I'm curious about, is how pilot can survive jump to the star with broken canopy and no shields? Are there any believable explanations? Shouldn't pilot become tomato paste particles inside cockpit during that jump?

And honestly, I wish there were more such hazardous occasions, maybe some random module failures or similar stuff to get you on your toes. It's pretty satisfying getting in situations where your ships gets catastrophic damage and COVAS shouting in your ear that you're about to die gruesome death.

Avoid like the plague. Neutrons are both safer, and give a much larger boost. The only way to escape is to high wake asap. Any delay and the ship will be too messed up to jump.

Not entirely. Best surviving tactics I discovered: once your dropped in, you should put throttle to 0 (if possible), it should stabilize ship, and choose closest star in front of your spinning nose. When FSD is charged, throttle up (boost) and pray.

In these modern ages of super high jump ranges, there's no real point going to a White Dwarf. I subscribe to the ideology of some random poster on this discussion board when he said;

"You will waste more time throttling down and dealing with supercharging your FSD than you would scooping and jumping at a normal star"

Not to mention when you work out your route with WD boosts, it literally only saves a single jump in most cases.

I'll use a WD if it's an option. Sometimes systems are JUST out of reach, that's when I will use them.if they are around
