Evevn though I had to drop half my mission since after scanning it, it updated the system I needed to go...... but not the planet.... or the speciifc place I needed to go....
Read the mission description in the 2nd tab of your left hand panel.

The one that tell me to go to the Djalbara system but to the Velname 1 planet ? Which is in the Velname system by the way. And I already visited the visitor beacon there.
Absolutely all my adventurer passenger missions ended like that.
On a side note, is it me or are there more interdictions since the latest small update? Before I traveled 500ly with only one, now I encountered 3 in just one system and 8 in 150ly.
Check your cargo bay. One of previous missions probably rewarded you with some engineering materials - those attract pirates like flies. Sell them and you will have all quiet passenger tours.
But now, since I started long way trading I didn't encounter even one so I guess it was just coincidence or bad luck.
If, once at destination, the mission isn't updating, scan the target (destination, beacon, etc..), by pressing the [T] key.
Something else: If the passengers refuse to disembark, it might be because the mission can't be completed, usually because the reward is -also- under the form of goods/materials and your cargo is full. Just clear up some cargo space and the mission can then be completed.
Hope this helps!
You have to remove it from being your current targeted destination in your navigation panel, then just swing the ship and press t to target manually and then scan wihtout it being set as a destination point. it's wierd
