if you cause their drives to reboot they won't be able to continue following you and running into more mines.

I know, but the other one reboots the thrusters.
They would both work great, just trying to find out what one works better.
Have you used any of them yet?
It also says anyone caught in the blast radius for the Shift-Lock Canister!
I can see being too close where that would suck.
The Ion Disruptor affects only the one locked on.
But now if I am attacked by more than one ship?
That don't happen very often tho.

No. I've never had any luck with mines...and I usually either boost away too fast or destroy the pirate. There are some changes coming to mines in 2.2 so I'd wait and see how it plays out.

From what I've read, you won't be able to just fly away and keep droping mines to destroy the opponent ship, so mods like this may become more important. Rebooting FSD only gives you about 10 seconds.

in my experience if you can boost away to the point where the opponent drops off your scanner before you go back to SC they take a MUCH longer time to follow you, if they do at all...so maybe rebooting their thrusters would help you get out of range.

That's what I was thinking would work best for my Space Pig. :)

I'll let you know how good it works with rapid fire mod as I'm going to haul fish for the CG now! lol

Go for the thruster one against NPCs. Against players... well, good luck getting them to run into mines, but if so, do both, then they get hit double.

There is also the option of going for reverberating cascade. Drop mines, take down their shield, then turn around and blast them!

yeah...good luck turning around a T9. Their shields will be back up to full strength before you turn around.

I went with the Rapid Fire with Ion Disruptor as I have zero plans for PvP with the Space Pig. lol
So far it has worked real nice....even made a few top tier pirates run! :D
