So i was doing some haulage, got intercepted well....no big deal Cutter can Cut anyone (badunts)

BUT like, while killing the enemy i probably? friendly fired other ships, i didn't even target anyone else, only my enemy.

Ok jump -> go to station, can't open missions because i have 200Cr worth of fine.

Pay 200Cr screen go freaking black, then i spawned 400LY IN THE PENITENT!!!!
Is this for real? 42 Jumps to get back in my sector?

How can i prevent this from happening again

Not really. I'm thinking more along the lines of Freelancer where you could be an integral part of the pirates or any other faction. Missions would spawn for that, etc. Obviously the system would have to be more complex in ED b/c it is simple to create multiple faction paths in a single player story driven game with controlled content. Not so much in a free form free for all galaxy.

Happened yesterday, I wanted to try out this thoery that going to Hauser's station on a Conda at Robigo and doing Sight Seeing missions for materials could earn me more materials than doing the same thing with a Python at Robigo Mines... I received a friend request at Robigo. accepted. On my way to Sothis a ship showed up in one of the systems between Robigo and Sothis. I thought it was suspicious but apparently the ship the person I befriended never left Robigo according to the friend's list.

On My way back to Robigo a Python seemed to follow me, I wasn't sure if it was deliberately chasing me or going to Robigo Mines. I started to loop at that point I was convinced it was chasing me. Suddenly the guy turned into a wake. I kept moving to Houser. My head was just trying to guess what happened and whether or not to kick the guy off friend's list. (Didn't even know if it was the same person or not)

Before I knew it I hear the warning sign. I was at Hauser's mail slot. Imediately started heading back, but it was a very light Conda with weak engines. Before I knew it, every single thing with guns was firing at me, I got countless fail mission warnings and pop. Suddenly I'm at Pleiades on the detention ship/station with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of mission failed messages.

So much for immersion.

Absolutely! What kind of galaxy would this be if we just let our animals run loose?

Was doing a little bounty hunting and decided to drop by a Nav Beacon on the way back to port. First ship I scanned was wanted and he was flying away from me. I knew if I shot him, he would most likely turn and engage. So I fired a burst from my MC. I watched the rounds heading towards him and a DBX dropped from SC directly into my line of fire. Evidently I only connected with one round as I ended up getting a 100cr fine. It was a "fine" although it flashed on my HUD as "bounty." I immediately jumped into SC and headed toward the nearby IFF expecting to face a fight beacuse I had a bounty. Only when I got to station and went to turn myself in did I find out it had actually been a fine.

Thought for sure the unlucky sap in the DBX had been authorities or something. Nope, just another pilot who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't know how much damage a size 4 MC actually could do to a DBX, I may have just grazed him.
