Female Players
A player posted a thread on Frontier wanting to know how many and where are the female players.

Then someone posted this hilarious video created for another game that portrays gamers co-op – https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/423178-Space-girls-where-you-at?p=6635161&viewfull=1#post6635161 :steamhappy:

Yes it is, it's really not needed at all. Sadly so many gamers are very immature.

Hey, we exist! At least, I'm pretty sure.... ~looks down shirt~ Yep, still a lady. =p

It's not what's down your shirt that defines that... I've seen blokes with bigger tits than some women. Check down your pants instead.

EDIT: I can't even say "tits"? :ksad:

What about "boobs" or "moobs"?

I believe female players do play ED but are the minority, except I'm curious to know did you choose to play or was introduced by friends?

Also, do you really like playing space simulator games?

just think it is sad 2018 and people still thinking about these things.....

next people will be asking about different culture's " how many people from this country or that country"

the amount of people that could be targeted for harrassment from this post alone is so bad.
and then elite dangerous will be known for the sexual harrassment game.

i am a social worker and this is how it starts in reality.
one person takes offence and then a law suite "or a person is harrassed from a post which was the cause" and they have always felt presured by men.......

and all they want to do is just enjoy a game they like too play.

one person reads a post sees them.... oh she looks nice and then the stalking begins.
and the respect is out the door.

who cares how many different genders play this game it should be just the fact we all like playing elite.

knowing that girls play the game is not going to change your game experiance.

posts like this makes me sad that this is where the community is going.

for me it was the community that got me into this game so helpful could not care they are boy or girl.....
if this is what i was reading when i started playing this game i would of got a refund.

I've had E:D on my Steam wishlist since it was launched, but haven't had the time to pour into it until now. I played flight-sims a lot in the 90's (really wanted to be a pilot when I grew up, my uncle used to fly), but I'm not super into multi-player games. I like story-driven games usually, but Elite fufills my desires to both fly and explore in space, and I've never been short on imagination. Plus, it has a Solo Mode, which was a huge selling point. I don't mind playing in a private group, but as an adult with a more than full-time job, I don't fancy dealing with griefers and murderhobos when I'm trying to relax.

Honestly, I'll play just about any games, video/board/tabletop/TCG or what have you.

Yea, don't disagree with you about sex and racial discrimination laws these days that a female shopkeeper can't greet a male customer with Love anymore.

Guess I'm a curious person who likes knowledge and if I have unintentionally harrassed anyone, let me know or report to the moderator.

Same, except I played the first Elite game on a Spectrum 64 computer and E:D is the first MMO game I played. I also wanted to be a pilot when growing up but didn't work out but I played FSX so much that my kids were glad when I stopped flying a B777-200 around after purchasing E:D :steammocking:

Social sciences have actually shown it is in fact other WOMEN who make all aspects of online interaction (Yes, including games) Unpleasent for other women.

Of course, that contradicts the last 15years of Feminist theory, so you really have to dig to find these studies. Published on Jezebel, Salon, Vice, etc, these won't be.

The irony is, most men treat women like men in games, even when they know they're women. Equality!

It's called banter, Block and mute buttons exist for a reason, don't take it personally, I've been called names online, and threated with sexual violence enough times to fund forty seasons of Feminist Frequency through pity donations. And I'm just a single spazz. It's a pity nobody has found a way to successfully monetize male victimhood. But men are considered disposable in Western society so. Yeah.

I've known my share of girls in real life as well as video games that made doing stuff hell for guys and girls alike.
Don't say it's just guys that make girls miserable in games, and don't suggest that there are no girls that make guys miserable in games.

...that being said, it's irritating at times that the question, "girls play video games?" still exists in a time when most gamers groan at, "you still play video games?".

Exactly - I believe you actually agree with me. Of course people of both sexes can be annoying - nothing that I said inferred that this was not the case. But the very fact of (in the current example) girls playing video games being thought of as any different from boys playing video games shows that a problem still exists, which needs to be addressed.
Why should girls playing video games be any more of a 'thing' than gays playing video games, or blacks playing video games, or muslims playing video games?
