Re-engineering engineered modules
I noticed the display changes when you re-engineer engineered modules. For instance my Cutter has a grade 5 FSD at 3962.4 but the max is 4050. So if I roll again and it says +1% that means that I will get a better range than before? And if it is in the blue area or -1% that means less?

So they are showing your upgrade relative to your current engineered module?

Am I correct on this?

The first time on stock FSD it showed percentage. Second time it showed value and the percentage of that value relative to current.

Yes, the upgrade % is relative to your current module stats

Well I noticed that after you engineer it you can actually go higher than if you haven't at all. For instance power plant grade 1 was at 30.4 but the first time it was off the charts for the percentage. On the second roll I rolled 31.4 which is far above the blue and above where I was. In other words for the first roll on stock PP it is not possible to roll a 31.4.

Now I have a +18% capacity on a grade 1 PP mod but most sites say Farseer can only do +12%.

You can clearly see I have +18% with a grade 1 modification. That is supposed to only be available with a grade 2 modification.

So my thoughts are if these don't stack then why is it allowing me to go higher on the second roll after I have engineered a module? For instance if +12% is the highest it can go then when I re-rengineer the module it should not allow me to get +18% b/c +18% is not possible in stock form.

I can boost to 409 with a grade 3 modification?

you can go higher than the posted max in the recipes and then some with the secondaries, you need info from the fd forum is on the pvp section the max for g5 mainly
Yes, and going higher than the max with secondary effects can happen in any previous module's state, engineered or not. So always apply a roll that is better than your current one, and don't remove the engineering before rolling a new one - you might get a worse roll than you just removed.
