Frontier and Third Party Apps

Frontier does not support Third Party Apps / Sites, so they say.

Yet if you fall foul of Third Party Apps / Sites Dev's, for finding fault with their software or
disagree within their views within a discussion forums, there's a good chance your access to that App will be restricted as in help and Questions answered on any medium they control and have answers for. That or you will be blocked kicked from those forums.

So it begs the question is Frontier supporting this Orwellian authoritarian rule over players, who use Third Party Apps / Sites to play Elite Dangerous because Frontier has unofficially outsourced these needed Apps / Sites to play Elite Dangerous as there's no comparable in-game tools for players ?

If you don't use Third Party Apps / Sites then you're at a severe disadvantage not only for your own ability to play Elite Dangerous, as in Knowing what to do How and Where but against other players who do.

Umm.... right op, sure... the nurse will be along shortly to give you your shot.

You know they provide an API and allow third party apps to use it and have been very supportive of third party apps in general. However, its not like they will offically support any of them. They provide the access and that is all. Anyone can use the API.

If you are ranting about what the third party app devs do, then your beef is with them, not FD.

Other than it happened to me and others who are summarily dismissed with zero help when Dev's are faced with issues within Apps.

Given your response to this underlying issue of Third party Apps been unofficially outsourced by Frontier. I direct your attention to this site, which has been taken down, but the title says it all, as the Tin foil hat is insulting and does not help which shows the general attitude to players who are on the receiving end of a 'gang sycophantic mentality'

Frontier haven't outsourced anything. They have been in no way involved with any of the third party tools. They provide an API which outputs data about your gameplay which the third party tools can access only if users explicitly allow it. Websites merely compile the data they receive from these players and present it back to you in whatever form they choose.

As has been mentioned above if you have issues with third party app creators then take it up with them.
