It will cost 4 x as much for everything. The Anaconda is a great ship though, but I am not a huge python fan, except that it can land on Medium landing pads.
Should probably also consider what role this ship is actually going to be used for.
Have a look at the Krait aswell, you might consider it better for your purpose.
Both. They are brothers in the multi role class. They can do it all. Python is a medium ship that can land anywhere and can do it all including combat if you are an experienced combat pilot in a medium ship and don't go over your head. Anaconda is the big daddy. Not as good as the Vette in combat, a little more maneuverable than the Cutter but you will feel safe in it and it can do anything it wants except land on a medium pad. Both ships can fight, run cargo, mine and the Conda is the big daddy of the jump ships.
My advice is start with the python and use it to gain credits for the Anaconda. If you do it right you will keep both ships for life.\
You will surely get arguments about my reply but if you think about want you want and it is to play all aspects of the game...these are your ships.
I'm with greg on this one you can't go wrong with either or, but just remember to always have the rebuy money
I would say get a Python set it up for opal mining. spend a day or two doing that, and you'll have enough cash to outfit anything you want, with plenty left over for multiple rebuys.
I have a Krait MkII set up for deep core mining, that cost approx. 85mil to kit out. It's engineered just enough to hit 40ly jump range empty. It has 128 tons of cargo space. My last haul of mixed diamonds, opals, and whatever else that was in the the hold sold for just over 150mil.
The Krait has one less optional slot than the Python, which means I usually fly without advanced sensors or a fuel scoop. I usually leave the scoop at the nearest station, and take sensors with me to probe the rings, then I switch back to the scoop, when I'm full, or ready to sell. If I was smarter I would buy a second Python for the mining, and sell the Krait or repurpose it, but I like the view from the Krait's cockpit.
You may want to get a vulture for combat, and still have money for rebuys.
Just refit the Beluga ;)
Slap some military hull on there, SCBs, HRPs, MRPs, engineer for integrity, sturdy turreted MCs, get a SLF, and job done.
To OP: With your budget you better forget the Conda - for now. Don't let the Krait-Faction fool you the Python is a great ship! In my opinion it's the best medium multipurpose ship. But they do have a point, Krait is slightly better suited for combat.
So if you're looking for a combat ship in your pricerange my recommendations would be:
- Krait Mk II (A-Grading will exceed your budget)
- Alliance Chieftain or one of its sister ships
- FDL (A-Grading will exceed your budget)
- on of the federation ships if you have the rank
- Mamba (same as FDL and Krait)
Krait Phantom, Mamba and Python can be good combat ships too, but they are not exactly the majorities favorites.
Anaconda is versatile, but doesnt excel well in any area other than maybe jump range. Hardpoint placement for combat is crap especially.
