Your AFK Build & How you do Your AFK Farm?
I’m sitting at 49% combat rank expert and I've started doing AFK farming again. Saving up for the Fleet Carrier and want at least 10 billion before buying. AFK pirate farming is my biggest way of making credits. Everyone has different ways of making credits but AFK is my way.

Now that my rank in combat is higher, I’m getting tougher NPCs interdicting me, that I had to change up the way I’ve been doing AFK. When I pick up missions at 3 different systems, I’ll use my Mamba for that and it is my highest dps ship out of the three for farming. I make sure now to only grab one mission from each faction leader in a system, I also don’t use a kill warrant scanner anymore. I would rather just finish off the missions as quickly as possible and get paid up to 30 million for a mission. After I've grabbed all my missions, I’ll take out the Corvette and get all the interdictions taken care of and it is a very fun ship to fly. All interdictions taken care of, I’ll head out in my Type 10 and this is the only time I won’t be in VR. Last night I fell asleep and thought for sure I would have taken damage and lost my NPC pilot but, all was good. Got a great tip from Genitor and have your cargo hatch at lvl 3 priority just in case your ship gets into trouble and might survive after losing all your cargo.

Just curious how others do there AFK and how you build your ship.

For grabbing missions and I do get interdicted doing this, Mamba.

I take my 'afk' type 10 out but I don't AFK. I usually get into the fighter and tag enemies, and then the T10 opens up on them.

I was thinking about that yesterday. I usually just say fighter attack target but sure will make things a little more fun. Just have to tell her to hold position and make sure I don't fly too far away haha.
Combat wise you can easily make money faster with a decent ship and stacking pirate massacre, and once you get the FC, that's even easier because then you just park your FC next to the HAZ RES for resupply.

For example, jump into your best non-AFK combat ship, kill pirates, once you plan to take a long break, go back to your FC, pick your AFK build, and then leave your AFK at the RES LOW :-)

that said my main money maker was the wing mining/trading missions that you can buy (bertrandite/indite/gallite, also silver, gold and palladium) mostly in Expansion systems/factions even doing them solo in good days I could easily clear 200m an hr and "incoming enemies" all deadly/elite anacondas for lots of extra bounty credits and materials.

yes FC makes earning credits easier, mining is particularly awesome, park it next to a hotspot, mine at your own leisure with any ship, store, take breaks, go back at it if you want, then head to sell.

good luck!
Thanks JL! Yeah, yesterday almost finished off half of all bounties with the Corvette at a haz rez. Went back to jump in the T-10 and set her up. Didn't plan on sleeping, just closed my eyes a bit watching tv and didn't wake up till morning. First thing I thought was dam my ship is gone haha. Love the new fix after last update, with a properly outfitted T-10 you won't have to worry anymore. Before last update, I would have module and hull damage and the game was so lagged out. If I didn't take care of it right away, I would be looking at insurance. This would happen after 1-2 hrs in AFK, not anymore.
Found a new bug and this one is really pissing me off. Past week I found myself paying off fines for bounties on me and happening way too much. Thought nothing of it until now. Was in a ripe farming area with good targets and after fight was over, a little eagle I noticed is red on me and is a system authority vessel? What!, Recall fighter and pips to engine and SC out. Just when I'm leaving that same ship turns green on me. Like if I would have cancelled my SC I could have stayed in that instance for all those good targets. Now I know why I have been paying off fines lately.

Love the Corvette.

Fighters can be an issue in bounty hunting areas. If your fighter (or your ship) is struck by a stray shot from the police, your NPC fighter pilot will immediately go on the attack, racking up bounties.

I normally keep the NPC fighter on standby, and only use 'attack my target' If you give your NPC free reign (engage all/defend) you're asking for trouble unless you're in a Haz Rez with no cops.
Thanks for the tip. Going to keep a close eye on this. If I see authority vessel turning green from red and I can still stop my SC from charging in time, I'll give it a try.

Funny thing is when I targeted the authority vessel my turrets wasn't firing on him when he was red... Good thing I didn't pursue the attack and if I would have killed him, just a pain in the butt waiting for the notoriety to go down.

Cops trapping people, don't like that.

Yep, I AFK at the same location with this build: https://s.orbis.zone/h7q8

I do have my fighter on engage at will, but tend not to be really afk either. One of the few times I was away I came back to find I'd been shot down by security forces - probably my crew getting me into trouble!

If you want to team up there sometime, feel free to add me in-game: cmdr A J Wallis

Awesome, I'll also add you on Steam. Just jumping back in the T-10 and going AFK. How about tomorrow morning? I'm on Pacific time, west coast Canada. Haven't teamed up with anyone before so, you can show me the ropes. Do you have Discord? I'm on Genitors discord and I'm sure he wouldn't mind you joining on there if you don't have a Discord server. Being in VR I need to be on a Voice program, can't type when I'm in VR.
NPC's chaff when AFK also can cause your turrets to hit authority vessels.

Many times my fighter has hit a Megaship while doing those random missions and turned everyone against me, lol higher rated SLFs pilots with fixed weapons like beams will miss a lot less though :steamhappy:

I've noticed the NPCs using chaff a lot on me in haz rez, not so much in low rez where I have my T-10 AFK. I might make another fire group for haz rez keeping my turrets out of that fire group. Don't like to overheat if I don't want too and I don't like friendly fire. NPCs using chaff made me want Frags on the Corvette for close range fighting. They can use chaff all they want and I won't miss with Frags. Downside is, I had to change up on one of my hvy cannons for a turret beam for the Frags to be effective. As you can see on my Corvette build what I did. Having a large Turret Beam long range, thermal vent with a complete 360 degree field of fire is awesome on top. and my side medium pulses taking care of that field of fire.
Low res pirates don't have chaff. It's one of the reasons I farm pirates there instead of Haz rez when I have a huge kill count to get. (I stack missions with around 250 kills for each of 4-6 factions.)

At haz rez you want at least one fixed weapon and if not, deselect the target so you can use your gimballed as fixed. (Regular combat ship - a T10 afk build is useless here.)
Awesome tip on deselecting thank you! Yeah I only take my T-10 out of low rez. Even having over 3000mj absolute with bi weave shields not good fighting vs a wing.

Taking screenshots while fighting. Only in AFK lol. I like the tactical red on the corvette a lot and decided to have it on the T-10. Looks awesome in different types of lighting.

Yeah the NPC chaff is getting super annoying. Have to change up on my other power plant and switch to my hvy pa and rails until I engineer fixed frags.

My npc pilot, she just got promoted to elite :)

Edit: Two rails, hvy Pa and large turret pulse and I don't have to change my armoured power plant. If I change my power plant I could drop the chaff and and another booster.

Those megaships are the worst for that. I guess it's the massive great target looming behind the enemy *all* the time!
