Mining Osmium in Colonia?

... Or near by system - where need farm it for engineer? I spent 6 hours yesterday and dont get any closer to it. There 2 fleetcarriers what """can""" sell it, but noone cant land on them.

Metal rich rings/belts. Laser, surface and subsurface, there are no Hotspots for it but you can find it in any other hotspot.

It doesn't have a hotspot but Osmium are indeed available.

May take you an hour or two to gather them all.

Metallic rings, same as Platinum and often found alongside Plat, Gold, Silver, Painite, Palladium. Laser mine, you might also want to bring a Sub-Surface Displacement Missile if you have an extra S or M slot as Osmium is common in those deposits.

The planet where Jaques station is orbiting does have rings where you can find osmium for sure, i unlocked the engineer that way :)

I always come across Osmium when mining for Plat... it's more common in the same ring areas as plat HS.

Osmium is found as surface or sometimes sub-surface deposits in any metal rich or metallic ring or asteroid field. You'll need a mining laser, and may also want an abrasion blaster and sub-surface displacement missile launcher to collect it. The one catch is that osmium hotspots do not exist. So your best bet is to find a metallic location that is NOT part of a hotspot and start resource probing from there.

Or just mine for plat and you'll come across Osmium from time to time (I have it on ignore it comes up so often).... all lasers.
