I run a 1080TI and agree with jay flawless, HTC vive,
Edit: Forgot to mention Oculus Rift here and the visuals are fantastic.
I have just checked and I am on SS 1.25 and HMD 1.75.
1080ti with i7 7700K
supersampling at 1. 00
HMD at 2.0
im satisfied
I've amended mine to this setting now. do you think it's better to have a higher HMD setting or higher SS? I can't make my mind up but I can't set them both high or I do get judder in space stations etc., and I can't abide that.
Malic is very knowledgable when it comes to Oculus Rift or VR in general, i link his Twitch here.

few days ago he told me keep HMD at 2.0 if you can...the supersampling wont make that much a difference in VR
The graphical performance of the game was improved many months ago, and since then allowed to run a regular 1080 at 1.0, or at very least at 0.8.
I concur, now I've disabled a few ephemeral settings I can run at HMD 2.0 and SS 1.25 on the 1080Ti. I can't imagine the 1080 is that far behind.
