How to combat
So i know how to combat in star citizen using couple and decouple what i do is just kinda "orbit" around the enemy while facing him so fast that he miss most of his shot. I do very well in pvp like i get way more kills than death. I thought the combat system will work similiar in E:D since flight assist on/off is just the same as couple and decouple meaning one flight like a plane and one more like a space ship. I tried everything but they still fly around me faster then i do, above competent i mostly get rekt especially by a eagle or DB lol........ they fly too fast.

I watch so many videos and looked trough forum tipps and stuff and wasted so many money on my ship trying to learn combat. I did the same thing for star citizen but i learned pretty quick there. No idea what im doing wrong in E:D and the tutorials are easy but when i get to a combat zone i get shreckt. Also i feel like the missions are abit unbalance i get like 200k for a bounty and get like 80k for killing 5ships in a combat zone and the enemys there are much better like wtf?

Anyway please lecture me and write a 10page paragraph teaching me step by step how to fk them up because my asshooooooooole is getting bigger and bigger and exactly how many o´s there is thats how big it is please its so frustrating.

There's 3 styles, tanking, sniping or dog fighting. Pick one you like the sound of and check out some guides on youtube.

Vindicator Jones has some good ones.

Depends what ship you are in as to specifically how to combat other ships.

When facing (AI) eagles, fly backwards. They can't tank ♥♥♥♥ but you can.

When facing large ships, target the power plant sub module and try to get above or below the target and disable it.
That way you can take out anything else that's hostile before coming back to finish the big MFer.

For starter combat a Vulcher is the ship to aim for, it's easy mode dog fighting for sure, but great fun.

PvE piracey is a great way to learn about all the mechanics involved in selecting sub modules disabling power plants, management of firegroups/power etc.
Worth a shot too. Is how I learned.

Welcome, o7.

Yeah Vindicator Jones has some good vids, some are up in the steam guides section too. Especially good is use of thrusters while pitching.

faoff in ED has almost nothing common with decouple mode you have speed differences and major the rotation is not dumped like SC neither you have esp precision mode :D

you should not have problems with npcs because you don't need to do fast flybys strafing or fancy piloting eng your ship and outtank them is what everyone does in pve = ez money

for pvp is another discussion send me a friends invite because is a huge subject

I only play solo and my biggest issua is AI above competent circle me faster than i do them. But from what i learned i press down thruster while pointing it upwards while Fa off still cant circle them fast???? using keayboard amd mouse im not gonna get hotas after getting vr lol

what ship are you flying along with what weapons are you using that has a major impact on who and what you can kill in ED.

Get a Vulcher and they'll have a hard time doing that.

In anything slower than your target use a mixture of flying backwards, and boosting towards them when you need to.

In something like a Python, a ship I love but that turns like a turtle. You wanna use FA off and boost together, to turn at anything close to a reasonable speed.. and you wanna engineer your thrusters to dirty drives.

Vulcher? Do you mean Vulture? First time you did that I figured you just mispelled it now I'm thinking you are just confused or intentionally calling it something else.

I completely rebind my keys and they are no further away than T G and V i also have 2 extra buttons on the side of my mouse. I never had difficulties finding a key and its really not that hard to play with like i can also land on a pad with one fly without correction my position.

Anyway right now im using the DBX its not bad for combat and i sometimes take a few bounty huntings. Otherwise i also have a viper mk4 thats only for combat. Im running 2gatlings and 1 laser thingi that shoots balls lol whatever they are called on my dbx. Really op one shoot takes like half of the ships shield.

I know the very basics like pinging around in your system i do that very often. I know using boosters can make me turn faster. Staying in the blue zone to have the best speed for turning. Using down thrusters and aiming up while using FA off.

Sometimes i meet this one imperial courier around the navigation signal that turns faster 360 than i click close on my p0rn when my mum comes in.

k/m in vr not easy but doable , down thrusters while pitching up always increase distance so you will never get behind that way lol

boost past them head to head close and turn pitch faster with faoff while use up thruster to close your turn so you will be closer and on top of them shoot and repeat

a small tip in res if you start from close and behind the npc will never manage to face you as long as you stay close behind below 700m

but if you want to learn combat shoot them for far away and let them come gun blazing

Turn off flight assist if you want to use Star Citizen style tactics. Gives much more accurate/realistic momentum control.

It really is easier than it sound when yoi map every key around your hand. I do as good as without vr.

You are right you do get further away if you down thrust but you do turn much faster tho saw it on one of vindicator jones tutorial but ya i shouldnt do it if i want to stay behind.

My only problem is turning. I dont constantly fly with FA off tho only when turning i have difficulties to to stable my ship without knowing my force vector like in star citizen. Most tutorials keeps showing how to like orbit with the station with FA off thats easy its only when i keep turning and turning while in a fight that i have no clue where my force vector is.

I know his first pb....
I'm sure to 9000000000000%
The guys is flying in dog fight, with 100% of engine actived, and he turn bad, he go in Conflict era, with a stock ship, or with a sidewinter, he shoot every one in conflict era without check (or choice ) factions in fight, and have full red on the radar, and he forget missiles.

He have not, shield booster, no energy caps... all stuff in E or D.
He dont understand laser on shield, balistic on hull, target sub-system....
The game is not flying like plane ( thinking same in first moment ), your ship still moving if you down your engine to zero from 100% or turbo.
He dont use reverse engine.
He dont use move on left or right, he dont use auto turret, he dont rules the aim system, and prediction system in the ( 4 ) screen, he forget to check, this damages.

shortly, go watch somes video, grind your skill, you will die, again and again..is the game..and you lose every thing drop, or find in game, your prime ect, after each dead.

my advice:

First job, trader do trad mission and lill combat mission to learn, dont go in conflict era is not for you " young padawan ". ( maybe for 20h to one week )
Second job, Buy a cobra or a viper is a combat ship dogfight, fitt it, for somes weeks.
3Th job, buy a trader ship like explorer, or T6, do many trader mission, join a faction and support it. use your map road.
When you will economize something like 150/200m...buy a python or somehting more bigs, fitt him and go explore...you have somes billions of system.

This game is not Star Citizen, is a remake of a old game.

Cordialy

lol no you got like 97% wrong. My only problem is turning quick in combat. They advice you give me doesnt help..... lol i know what to do in this game combat is my problem and i want to learn it.
