Oculus Quest 2 Help?

Can't find anything online how to get this game to work with the Quest 2 controllers, no option in the settings other than keyboard and mouse, I really wanna play it in VR but can only do so with Xbox One controller or Keyboard which is weird since they released a VR version on the Oculus store but didn't port the controller preset scheme to the main game for when its connected.

you should be able to remap controls if you select the custom scheme.

I didn't even have a custom option, just Keyboard + Yaw, KB+M, and KB only.

Maybe the controller isnt recognised by the game or its disabled in the options?

Couldn't find anything disabled it took me 90 minutes to just be able to click stuff in the menu with the mouse, I think it's just a bust for vr without a flight stick and I will have to play it with an xbox controller.

I may be wrong, but I dont think it does support VR controllers, I have an oculus rift s and they certainly dont work with elite. Besides, I dont think the wands would be good for this game. For foot I would recommend the xbox type controller I guess and for the rest in space (full VR), HOTAS is really the way to go (with voice attack for the rest of the commands). Far too many commands for a couple of buttons on a wand IMO.

I gotcha, maybe I will save up and buy one someday, I don't even know if I will like the game so can't justify buying a 280 dollar throttle and yaw haha, will give it a go non vr and see if I like it and wanna put some time into it and possibly odyssey and then go from there. Thanks for the help. I just figured since maybe the game came out on the oculus store I was sure it worked there just fine and maybe had a controller preset for steam vr version.

You can look into using this, I have never gotten Elite Dangerous to work with my vr headsets and I sorta collect them so I have a lot of them, I do use an xbox controller with my vr headset which I find is fine, though that's because I'm comfortable using the controller. You can setup your vr controllers with the thing above, just note that it takes a bit of time to do so.

Whilst it isn't for me, a console controller can work enough I think (plus, in the UK at least, HOTAS is hard to get hold of especially the good ones at a good price). Though I would suggest voice attack. You can tie up a lot of the needed keystrokes with voice commands instead. Pretty essential I would suggest for VR especially

Still there is no reason to give your info to yet another company, especially the one known to leak your personal data all over the Internet.

this game is not compatible with motion controllers period.

How would you even fly with motion controllers?

Get a flight stick, like everyone else.
