Multiple control options: K&M for foot AND Joypad for driving, flight and interfaces

Is this possible or am I missing something in the control options?

I've been trying to work out which controls I'm more comfortable with overall and both have their problems subject to what I'm trying to do.

I've decided I want both without having to access options to change control type time I change mode. Can it be done?

Choose one controller model, then add second bindings for your other controllers. It will be saved as a custom binding. Use it from now on. Just make sure to have all controllers being connected before you start the game the next times.

I don't own Odyssey, but doesn't it work like the SRV?

There's an entire separate section for "Driving" where you can map everything separate from your flying stuff.

Whenever I get Odyssey, I think I'll do the same I do currently for my SRV: just switch to my Xbox controller, which is used on my left hand while flying (thrusters, plus combos for everything else)

Maybe if we had a default control setting that allowed K&M for walking and a joypad or hotas for flight?

We do, use the kbm preset then bind your gamepad or hotas as secondary. in fairness to any dev out there there are to many combinations to add a preset for every kbm and hotas and/or gamepad config.

So we have kbm and the easy, yes for all those that whine, easy, ability to bind multiple additional controllers on secondary bindings

You could use a gamepad/joypad preset, enable the mouse axis for on-foot and map everything missing from the K&M preset to the now custom keymap. You may have to switch around some keybinds and adjust sensitivities to make them more comfortable to use.

A dev-made preset for these usecases would be better though.
