The overlay changes subtlely depending on the filter.
The overlay shows where things may be found, POIs for geo/bio have been removed.
Selecting a filter will keep it enabled on approach while still in scanning mode (ship).
I just found something i have not seen before, even in the codex; need to go back.
Detailed Surface Scanner equiped ?
- Greetings Cmdr, This is working as expected - the blue areas highlight locations where organic life is supported on this planet. There is no longer a "heat map" as this was causing some confusion. Hope this helps!
Fast switching between filters will make it a bit more clear where things are.Have to go planetside to find things; gio/bio signals were removed.
Doesn´t work on every planet. Was over 1000ly away from Sol and found several planets with organic life. Got most times 3 options to switch the filter. On some planets it was working as intended and on some other planets nothing changed. ~2h searching on the planet, from planet to space and back until i´ve found what i was searching for.
Yes. Hence the reference to DSS.
So you are saying the heatmap is in DSS? I am unsure what I am looking for since I don't know what heatmap is being talked about here. The only thing I could describe as a heatmap are the blue circles that spawn on the planet when hit by a probe. But I can;t see any filter options.
Sweet, thanks man! I will try this out later.
as you need 3 samples from at least 300m apart each, its worth remembering in which kind of terrain you found your first.
A big help is the scanner function on the Bio-sampler: On right click, it emits a pulse that highlights scannable samples in green, and already scanned samples in blue, with a range of 50m. so walk around, scan the terrain. Once you hear an audible signal, look around for pale green glow: that´s your next sample. Scanner has limited charges, but recharges by entering ship or buggy. Bacteria can be hard to spot from the ground, but are visible as discolored patches if you fly over the area at an altitude of maybe 200m.
Also, when you collect the first/second samples, a pin appears for each at the top in your on foot radar so you know the distance and direction from the prior sample(s).
