Where to find Raw Materials in Odyssey?
So, before in Horizon, I used to go Planet Hopping, Scan a Planet drop at a Geological Site and then drive around shooting rocks.

Right now though, every planet that I have scanned and traveled to in Odyssey, doesn't show any Geo sites, Only Raw Materials I have been getting are from Canisters in Ship Wrecks which are just piles of Manganese and Chromium.

Wanting to just give Odyssey more play through and not go back to Horizon just yet, where should I go for materials, since Geo Sites seem to have disappeared?

Is Dave's Hope still a thing? That used to be the goto site for a lot of mats.

But with Material Traders being a thing now, I usually have enough of something to trade for what I need.

From my Experience, Dave's Hope ussually only has Manufactured Materials, like Conductors and Alloys.

It doesn't really have Raw Materials, like Lead, Chromium, Boron, etc.

if you want to material as fast as u did in the horizon update^^ jusst switch to horizon on the launcher .. collect your materials and check back to osdessy afterwards... if you want to keep playing odyssey you need to find planets providing the materials and crack the stones open with your srv... find the right planets for youself or check EDDB.io for the highest possible chance on planets.

Dav's hope is for random manufactured materials. In that regard you're much better off resetting HGEs and trading them down.

As for raw materials, I'm under the impression it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Instead of landing in a hotspot you just land pretty much anywhere and the planet is lightly saturated. So instead of grinding for an hour at a hotspot and filling up you need to drive around for hours only to find a handful of piceous cobbles that will provide you with iron for your hard work.

Do yourself a favor and max out your mats in Horizons while you still can.

I used to find specific planets with a high concentrate of the materials I was looking for (sucks) until I found out about crystalline forests a few years ago. I don't remember what system I used to go to but found this and is a pretty good example o what I do:

I haven't tried it on Odyssey yet, only Horizons.

Crystalline forests and braintrees are the best sources of mats i've found so far.

I still haven't visited any of those... Get most of my raw mats from volcanic regions.

Just found out that those Crystalline Forests in Odyssey no longer give those High Grade Materials, They are now dropping Random Low Grade Materials now. Atleast that is what I am reading on several of the Videos on those planets. Which kinda sucks :/
