how do you activate autopilot?

For some reason the game has disabled my autopilot and I don't know how to turn it back on any ideas?

Which autpilot are we look at?
Supercruise assist?
Or
Docking computer?

If you have them do check they are on in both the module, and the ship screen under hotkey #3

It might also get damaged if your ship overheats, and therefore won't work. Aside from that, if you fit too many modules and overload your power plant it might have been disabled.

Make sure you still have the module installed... I did it myself last night. Dumped the SCA module in favour of a prospector limpet controller, then spent a few minutes scratching my head wondering why I couldn't engage supercruise assist

You just issue a docking request and move your throttle to 0. At this moment your docking computer takes over.

If your docking computer module is at 0 % it wont work anymore and you need to restart your ship computer to repair it. Check you modules and set to prio 1 if it is not working. Press X for stop speed and be sure be less as 7500 metres from stations or settlements.

If the space stations are damaged by targoids your docking computer also will not working. Those station have no docking system active.

also some really remote stations sometimes don't support auto-docking though ATC usually indicates if that is the case.

If you have a docking computer installed on your ship the panel on your right (where you can see modules, inventory, holo-me, etc.) will have an option to change its settings. I think it's in the same panel as lights and cargo scoop. Anyway, you can select this to enable/disable or change settings like not having auto launch on or if you have Odyssey, you can disable auto landing on planets.
