Imperial Shielding
Anybody know where Imperial Shielding can be found? Imperial Shielding can be used at the traders. It is effective for that. Finding it? Well- that is a problem. I looked at High Grade Emissions. No luck. I had some, but I probably picked it up in combat.

And you were in imperial space?

High grade emissions ONLY in Imperial space, good luck in your search o7

Imperial Shielding is most common grade 5 manufactured material. It can be found only in high grade emissions in imperial star systems (preferably with high population and no states)
Try those sysrems:

You want imperial shielding to use at traders? What do you want to trade it for? Why not go for what you actually want?

Because it's faster to trade a grade 5 mat that you can easily get for dozens of lower grade mats

Too bad I cant put engineering mats up for sale on my carrier, let me do the grind and just charge a premium, money can be made faster then these mats can be found,
heck let us sell pre engineered modules or even whole ships, to me that would make the shipyard and outfitting an actual money maker, as it is now you either break even or have to overcharge and most people will go to a station because of this,

I got a bit off topic there but seriously I've got like 40 of them I could share with you if there was a mechanic that allowed it, I've done all my engineering, I dont need them, we need an endgame/done with engineering use for these mats.
Imperial shielding is very, very common. There are couple of vids how to farm most G5 mats in most efficient way.

Sure, but if you are spending a lot of time getting those G5 mats it might be better to hunt for something else instead ;)

I'm not sure how much spawns in other types of emissions, but I think HGEs aren't too far behind anything else in terms of pure piece count. So unless the lower grades which give you the actual material you want can be collected 3/9/27/81 times faster (respectively for each grade 4-1) than the HGE, they're not faster.
So if it takes 30-60 minutes to top up a G5, a G4 needs to be doable in 10-20 minutes, a G1 in less than 44 seconds to break even.

I'd say it's definitely better to go for the respective line you want to avoid crosstrading (as long as you manage to be 6x or less slower than imp. shielding alone), but anything below G5 is pretty much never time efficient.

Well, i don't really know the current state of farming most materials. I basically accept material/data rewards when i do missions. Been doing that for a while now. So i'm kind of overloaded on all sorts of materials, especially G5.

Yes, hell yes, what a great idea! So many times now I've flown away from clouds of blown up ship mats because I'm full and can't pick them up. Be awesome if I could collect and on-sell somewhere. Even if it is a dodgy used ship salesman than has "Low Lys, one lady owner, only used on Sunday's" ships :)
this is a very good vid I used to farm mats: https://youtu.be/iHl-SsKQfe4
