Just keep moving your SRV around until it lights up.
Tried that so many times i was almost out of oxygen.
Got my SRV stuck several times under the ship's lift too (throttle or steering did nothing at all - yet still wouldn't let me board)
Yea that were the instructions i found via google but it just wouldn't let me no matter how hard i tried to position myself.
Not sure what went wrong.
My ship was Cobra mk 3 and SRV a Scarab. I kept getting the SRV stuck often under my ship too.
That mission was cursed from the start it seems :<
I've found that I tend to have to drive closer to the nose landing gear than the indicator says, sticking the nose of the SRV out of the yellow indicator before it gives me the boarding option. But too far forward, and you'll lose it again.
you'll almost have to pull the front bumper of your SRV further forward than you would think
It can be pretty finicky and some ships are harder to line up on than others. I find I have to drive farther through the orange shaft of light than I'd expect, so the nose of the srv seems to have gone a bit beyond the lip of the bay. 100% agree with Dolphin Bottlenose too, hit that handbrake as soon as it gives you the boarding indicator.
Maybe it was a bug with terrain placement idk :<
