HOTAS controllers not working in VR?

Works fine when playing normal--I have the thrustmaster 1600 FCS setup.

When i launch the game in VR, nothing works. I can't control the game at all except with the mouse, and even then, all i can do is navigate the menus.

Anyone seen this? google doesn't have much about it.

Possibly a stupid suggestion but you are making sure that you click on the Elite dangerous window so that it is the active window?

I just checked--game was definitely the only thing up and selected...could move the mouse but all it does is move the cursor. hotas setup just wont work in VR...I've tried disabling the controller input from steam (both big picture and regular) its just...weird. and frustrating.

In your control settings ingame is your hotas selected as the control option in the drop down list?

Yup... It's really odd. I've competed Uninstalled and removed any ED related folders/settings from my profile. Thing to reinstall and reconfigure today and see what's up

Did you figured it out? I have the same problem. i appear 6 feets aside my body and I can only use the mouse to hover over things

make sure the controller numbers in windows not changing after activating a new device.
deplug your VR and replug it, and look under game controllers if your controller numbers are before the vr device

I had similar problem and turned out that in steam settings I had mapping for other gamepad , when i turned this feature off - everything wen just fine.

Are you using a pre-made config file? I had issues when switching to non-VR after playing in VR, so it's possible it's happening to you in reverse.

Maybe you just need to go set keybinds for all these things. Or stick-binds. Like, go through the painful process of mapping this button to that event all over again, for VR mode?

Right click the game in Steam. Go to properties. Disable the Steam input bit. This should let the game see your devices, so you can map the controls.

in vr i am using my valve index with my virpil controls and they tend to work normally all the time i do wish i could help you with this but i dont have that problem
