There is no end game. All you end up doing is getting more expensive ships. You still do the same activities. Just things can become a bit easier/more profitable in bigger ships (not always though).
If you're only focused on reacihing the "end game" have you considered what you will do when you get there?
The grind is the game.
Trust me, once you get there... There's not a lot to do.
Amazing how many people continue to play the game for thousands of hours even when they have all ships.
There is lots to do if you enjoy the activities available. BGS, Powerplay (personally hate that), exploration, or just any of the activities you enjoy.
Yeah but at that point you are playing for the sake of playing, not for doing anything in particular.
Either that or you set your own objectives.
I mean i am one of those people, i've got a lot of money and i have all the ships i wanted. The only ship i want and don't have is the Corvette, but it's not gonna take long before i get it.
Somtimes yes. Sometimes its playing to achive objecties, especially when it comes to the BGS or PP.
But sure, some people have spent thousands of hours exploring. You might say that's just playing for the sake of playing.
There are people who play ETS for hundreds or thousands of hours just driving, despite having gained all the money they could possibly ever use. Does that make ETS a bad game?
I played Paladins for a while, just doing deathmatches over and over again. Playing just for the sake of playing. Nothing left for me to unlock.
I don't find playing for the sake of playing a valid criticism. People play because they enjoy the gameplay mechanics offered.
It's good for pinging people to play, also you can just hang out and ask the veterans for tips.
The corvette is a good ship for PVE, wings of corvettes can wreck even the hardest NPCs in about a minute. It's not that good for PVP though.
2 It has everything, and at a discount
3 From what i hear the FDL can just stay behind it
4 ditch anything you don’t need, A rate the FSD and power plant. Then it’s a matter of engineering and the guardian fsd booster.
I mean it's not a criticism?
You got awfully defensive but i think we have a misunderstanding, i was clarifying to the OP that once he gets all he wants the "clear objectives" are gone, and from there on he's basically free to do whatever. So yes, the grind is the game. Then most people keep playing after that, but that is very much past endgame. Maybe i worded it poorly but that's what i meant. It's not a criticism or implying that there's nothing to do in elite. If i have a criticism, it's that not everything is as viable as other things. (ex. mining is the most profitable thing to do unless you cheese combat, with other things unfortunately earning much less, with mission board being in a sorry state too)
Surely once you have got everything there is no need to grind. You say you're free to do what you want, so no need to grind as well ;)
In fact i don't grind that much? I mostly do whatever i want?
That was my point after all.
