PLAY button on launcher won't launch anything

I already verify integrity file on steam and also updating the launcher, yet when i press PLAY on the Horizon or the standard one, the PLAY button just disappear, black screen comes out, and it closed. Is there any way to fix it? Or it can't be launched on Windows 8 or do i need to buy the Odyssey DLC to make it run? Please help!

No you don't need to buy Odyssey, it's a dlc only. =)

Try reinstalling the game. (and restart your pc)

u sure reinstalling repair it? because it will take a long time to install it back.. and for restarting the pc? i did it multiple time and still not working..

Ok OP, there is another thing you can try:
windowskey+r, type %localappdata%, press enter
\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics
Backup & delete files in that folder, then restart the game.

try disabling firewall/antivirus or add exception for elite & launcher

i actually did everything in this link, and i even tried to disable my firewall and still nothing..

.NET 4.8 probably needs reinstalling.
