Odyssey help pls - died, ship shows on system map, but cannot recall it or transfer it
I searched and saw similar issues, and even tried some suggestions, but my problem remains.
I was on foot, got killed by guard (trigger happy immediate escalation) so redeployed in detention center. Paid fine, and took Apex back to last location Rhea 6 C and Bray's Leisure Complex. System map and "Local Fleet" window both show the ship at Rhea 6 C. But when on foot and try to recall it, Insight option is grayed out and says ship out of range.
Hmmm, ok, so shuttled to Ito Orbital, made sure no fines, and went to concourse ship guy. My ship is not on HIS list at all. Logged out, and back in Horizons per one of the posts here. Ship does not show up at all anymore in Horizons.
Logged back into Odyssey, and there it is, taunting me from Rhea 6 C (system map and Local Fleet window) but still can't recall it.

Any other ideas? I am now on foot at Bray's, which is the only settlement on Rhea 6 C and I'm pretty sure my COVAS AI is just messing with me. Still won't land ship.

Did you try going through the shipyard in the services menu at a station and having your ship transferred to your location?

*oh yeah you are on foot lol so you can't go into that menu. I had that happen to me and I went to that room with a blue holo of the ships and had it transferred right there.

No solution yet. Tried recall, tried transfer from Shipyard and the concourse. No joy. I've switched ships and traveled to other station and tried to transfer; tried the Horizons trick again (still doesn't show up in Horizons at all) etc. Nothing that should work seems to work. Submitted ticket with Frontier and noticed other people had the same issue. I've stopped playing until Frontier gives me my ship back.

Take a taxi to the settlement. If you can manage to get "killed" without committing a crime you will get the chance to redeploy on your vessel.

I found a potentially easy way to kill yourself at a settlement :-P I had landed my ship on the ground since it wouldn't fit on the landing pad. Small ships would sometimes come and land on the pad while I was poking around. So, a ship landed at one point and I went over to have a look. I jumped on top of it... and then it took off before I had a chance to get off! I died pretty quickly. It did respawn me in my ship, hovering about 500km I think off the ground. Fyi.

Hmmmm...two good tips. Thanks! I suppose if I play Open there's a better chance I can get killed.

Well, I tried the above as they sounded reasonable Didn't work. I jumped on top of a departing ship on Rhea 6 C and fell to my death. Even though my missing ship (Python) showed on the system map at Rhea 6 C, my only redeploy option was my Type-9 Heavy, which was the last ship I had been in and it was on Ito Orbital. <<sigh>> Guess I'm still waiting for Frontier Support to fix the bug and return my ship.

Exit game and load into Elite Dangerous Horizons or Org. this will put you in orbit in your ship. The exit the game and reload back into Odyssey

I tried the "Log into Horizons" thing. Didn't work. In Horizons the ship doesn't appear AT ALL, anywhere. Logging back into Odyssey it re-appears but remains inaccessible.

go to inter astra on any station. they can transfer ur ship

I don't know if this helps but I have noticed one frustrating bug while playing in the Odd.

When I got killed on the ground it (Those security scan notices are EASY TO MISS...) The game Redployed me 99km above the landing pad where I enjoyed the eternally long fall to my death.

When Pirates destroyed my ship while I was trying to board it and bail, it did the same thing with my ship... but spawned me on the ground 5km from the landing pad on the ground.
So I Rage quit by sitting on a gernade....

When I re-deployed it let me recall my ship for boarding.

I've learned that if it comes to getting smashed on a planet doing Oddesy stuff it's best just to bite a bullet and redploy,

When I get thrown in jail I transfer it to the Prison station, go out side and think about the bad things that I did to get put there and punish myself accordingly...

Because apparently thats what you have to ><;;;ing do to avoid losing your stuff in this update.

Use your jetpack in a timely manner (use bursts) to slow your descent and impact.
(be mindful of how long it takes to recharge after a full boost)

IF you become stranded on a planet, you can in most instances order an apex to a nearby station with an inter astra, where it will let you rebuy your ship.

Guards will only scan you when in range of the innermost circle on the minimap.
(passive scan them from a distance to have them added to the minimap)

And indeed don't do things you shouldn't be doing if you are not prepared for the ride home.

This is the correct solution to the OP T.D. as per patch#5.

You can get to the shipyard menu on foot... If the station/settlement you're in has a shipyard. Find the ship dealer...

okay, get a friend to tele presence, join their ship then have them log out while you are still onboard, you will be forced out of the ship on logout, then log back in and it should say that the game mode doesnt support planetary play. then it should move you and your ship back into orbit, i think this might work

I read patch 5 notes carefully and saw no items related to my situation. But when I read the above, I thought "great, maybe they fixed it in patch 5 and I missed it.".

Nope. Still cannot access my ship from ground or Inter Astra.

There are now several adds to my Frontier support ticket by others with same problem, plus all the new tickets reporting same issue. Reported over a month ago and still no fix and a whole bunch of us cannot retrieve our engineered ships.

Frontier seems focused on fixing wall clipping problems before fixing a fairly common very consistent and reproduceable major ship event.
