Multicannons to go through hull. Missiles to kill external modules.

so its a matter of preference the?
For small, low rank ships, is fun to use missiles, so totally give it a try.

However, once you start going against bigger, better armored, higher ranked ships, missiles won't cut it anymore, and MC will be better in general. Still missiles are effective at killing specific modules via sub-target.

You can say it that way. It's more about your tactics, how you want to kill your enemies.

Of course, multicannons also can kill modules, and missiles cause damage to hull. Just try them all and see what works better for your style.

Another thing to keep in mind is that multicannons have hull piercing penalty, depending on its size. Small MCs will have reduced damage against bigger and stronger hulls. In most cases you would want to put MCs on your larger hardpoints.

Yes. ;)

Again, it depends on many things. Beams are very hot and inefficient weapons. But they deliver a lot of damage for that short period of time until they deplete a power distributor. If you can't stay on target for very long, beams might be a good weapon to have. But if you can keep your nose on target longer than it takes to empty your power distributor, then you might want to change beams for more power-efficient weapons, like bursts/pulses.

Also, beams are good against shields, multicannons are much better against hulls. Multicannons don't use a lot of power distributor, too.

Again - try various weapon configurations, experiment. You will find an optimal setup for your ship, and you will get a lot of knowledge along the way. :)

I was wondering is there such thing as a cluster missiles in the game?

definetly multicannons, if only for the sound.

I like to use the (2) spot for a warrant scanner and (1) to fire absolutely everything. With missiles on (2) it's another loadout I have to page through. On that note, I wish there was a hotkey to pick loadout 1, 2, 3, etc.

Pack hounds missile rack, but it's a LYR powerplay module.

I'd prefer multicannons. NPCs have PDT which makes missiles useless

beam the shields down then multi-cannon the hull. cant go wrong with this for PVE.
