Abandoning VR Support for ODYSSEY?

We need a method for refund as we purchased Odyssey as the fulfillment of the promise of space legs in a VR Space flight sim game. We did not purchase this for a flat screen FPS experience. Some of you may have and I pity you for what you have missed. VR support was dropped, we demand refunds!

Honestly all VR users need to refund odyssey with intentions of repurchasing as soon as FD reverses their horrid decision. Minding for Eight hours in VR is so of the best fun I've had playing this silly game but we don't even do combat. All we really wanted was to walk about the interiors of our ships in VR just... living in them lol.

Refund is the best choice to send the message that our money wasn't a gift to fund flat boring gameplay.

not for me. not for many people i know. How do you even play without seeing the keyboard? thanks I'll stick to to my ultra-wide.
Dont get me wrong I think its very cool, but at my age my eyes are just not having it.

You're the one who talked about "voracious appetite" (i always remember when i hear words i haven't heard in a long time), so you kinda already answered that yourself. =)

Idk it jsut reminds me of a kid who only dreams about this one toy, then they finally get it and play with it for a few days before the fun wears off and they are back to kicking the ball around.
Walking around a ship just doesnt seem all that exciting and people are basing their entire opinion of the game on one stupid short lived feature. Same with police chases. Its like being upset that their isn't a ring toss mini game.

this is exactly what im talking about. so you want time , money and resources going toward a feature so you can sit around with your buddies in a make believe cockpit? no, just no.

That's what my $80 went to so yes that is what I expect and if I'm told that isn't what its going for I want my money back. They aren't making the game I paid for. I was happy to wait for it, even years but being told no then no thanks and the sooner they made that clear the better for us.

Now I have to fight with steam to claw back my money for a product that isn't as implied or promised. I want you to have what you want from it I don't see why so many of you are having a go at us over wanting the same. If you were the ones with issue do you think it would be right for us to have goes at you? Seriously think about this as a consumer and not as a fanboy, no offence intended.

dont get mad because you had expectations that were never promised. thats on you buddy. the game is fully playable in vr so i guess you'll just have to beg for a refund that will never happen. good luck

It's total crap that Frontier dropped the ball on VR support for FOOT/Odyssey. Lazy. Also, walking in ships is needed. Try star citizen, it's no a gimmick, its something to do on long flights and cool/fun - especially if they add stuff to do in the ships.

FWIW you can play Odyssey in VR in 3rd person by using the camera; there's a thread about it somewhere here on the forums.

By this logic they should make content only for phones since we all have phones and should stop making content for our meme computers. But thanks, I waited thirty years for VR and its no meme and it is everything I always wanted it to be and will become more and more.

I'm doubting that. Apple just put a big investment into VR. His comparison is also spot on.

If apples and oranges are a spot on comparison, sure. Phones aren't capable of doing half the things that computers do.

Also; comparing tools that are used by everyone and that are in all most every home and office to a toy is not an apt comparison.

Apple is also the proverbial king of gimmick technology. You also need a computer to use a vr memeset. So, uh cope.

Eventually we will have VR goggles, then maybe glasses, and eventually contact lenses, most likely followed by neural links, bc that's what humans do.
TVs were once entertainment only, now they are tools. (not my best analogy, granted ;)

It's not that mysterious, considering our species have walked all over the world since the dawn of time.
