Multi-Crew and Odyssey
So my friend wants to buy Odyssey, but how would making footfall work in mutlicrew? same as it would without multicrew, ie: disembark via the lower panel?

Firs of all Odyssey and Horizons are not compatible.
You both need to own Odyssey or both play Horizon. Else you will not see each other online.

In Oddysey you hace 2 different otions. "Multi crew" and "teams".
Multi crew works the same as in horizons. Only telepresence. No planetary exploration allowed.
Teams required to meet each other in person. You can be as a passanger in a ship or even take your friend SRV.
Good option to meet each other is Apex shuttle or personal meeting in a station.

yes, im aware of this. it will be an issue until console release, and probably glitchy even after.
