CH Pro Throttle management software conflict with Elite?
First off: It's not a Steam controller issue (I've kept that disabled for years because of the issues it can cause, and all the other devices are working fine).

I've been using a CH pro throttle without the software for ages now... But the other day I decided to try editing the curves slightly so I get a flat spot near the middle. I also wanted to globally set a 20% deadzone on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thumbstick... but I'm tempted to just rip it out entirely and replace it with a better one, or maybe try a spring mod so it actually recenters properly. I've already soldered the blade connections inside and moved the wires to stop another common stutter problem with the throttle.

So I downloaded the software and gave it a go. Set up my curves, saved the profile etc... (I've also tried it without a saved map, no difference).

I figured Elite might need me to rebind some things around the throttle...

Because it doesn't detect the CH Pro throttle as the same one it was configured with, the profile doesn't load. Fair enough...

So I started with a blank profile... but it won't detect any of the axes on the throttle at all...

My sticks are detected fine, as are my pedals (all Thrustmaster until I get a new stick next week - I appear to have a joystick addiction problem). However only the buttons on the throttle work in Elite, with the management software running (in direct mode - other modes don't work in Elite at all). All the axes refuse to register (though apparently they're working fine according to the calibration tool).

Without the software running, it doesn't detect the throttle at all until I uninstall the software and reboot the PC (then everything is back to normal and working like it used to).

I've seen a few things online of other people having similar problems, some even saying simply "don't use the software"... I've not found any actual fixes yet though.

Like an idiot I didn't think to try it in other games before uninstalling the software. I'll have to reinstall it and look at that, but before I do: Any CH Pro owners got any tips/ideas?

I run the CH throttle, pedals and the fighter stick in elite. the game has no issues that i've found. However, the CH software is always crashing. Their software is getting pretty old at this point.

Yeah I read somewhere it was last updated in 2004... Pretty sure that's back in XP days... :steamfacepalm:

I use CH Joystick/Thottle and Pedals bound into a single logical device with a CMS script I created to manage key mappings ( https://pastebin.com/SqLErHPP if anyone's interested) and I've not had a problem at all.

Did you use the "Download" button to send your config to the device?

Sending the config to the device is what got the buttons working, just no axis response :ksad:

Unfortunately my setup is a bit of a Frankenstein... The throttle is the only thing the CHM software can deal with. So that CMS script probably won't work for me.

I'm getting a new joystick (apparently delivery is due tomorrow), but that's a VKB so it'll be even more of a mixed setup. Looking at the software for the VKB though, it looks like I can use it to manage the Thrustmaster stuff, and maybe even the CH Pro... So I might be able to do something similar to yours that way...

Failing that I can always set up a complete mutant config for a virtual device, with a dozen axis and a ridiculous amount of buttons using vjoy/xpadder (or just keep using them without curve editing software) etc :steammocking:
