Returning to plotted route?
Hi guys/gals, this is something thats bothered me for a while so decided to ask this here, when you plot a route via Galaxy map, on the navigation terminal it shows the next location along your route, and the total number of jumps remaining. If I enter a system and see unknown planets, I usually target those planets and go hit them with a few probes for nav data. However, once ive done this, my nav window still shows how many jumps left to my destination, but it doesnt show my next jump as a yellow circle for me to engage hyperdrive and jump too. As it stands, I need to go back into the galaxy map, clear route and replot. Is there any way of simply returning to my already plotted route after I make a detour in system, without using the galaxy map to clear & replot? Hope this makes sense but if it doesnt just say. Ill try explain better

There's a key binding for "next system in route"

what about when you exit game and come back the route is gone and you have to replot it.

When you get back into game, just go to map and exit.
Yep. Unless you own multiple accounts and run them off the same computer. In that case, if you've switched to another account, you will have to replot your route. Otherwise you can just open the galaxy map when you log back in and it should automatically recalculate it for you.

-which also happens to be the most important keybind in the game.
(FTR: it's under Controls - Targeting IIRC)

Or you can open the navigation panel and scroll down until you see the system with the route icon to the left of it, and just lock it up. If you haven't bound the "Next system in route" key.

Which is fine if you're not in a rush. If you're in a crappy mining ship and someone decides to attack though? Useless. You'll be dead before you've found it. Bind the key.
Even when you're not in a rush... why would you want to do something that takes multiple steps and scrolling through dozens to hundreds of things to find the right one when you can just hit a single button and do the same thing? I have both the system map and the galaxy map bound to a key as well. Rarely use the navigation panel at all, other than to request docking since there's no keybind for that.
