Illegal passengers
Is there a way to know my passenger is illegal before I leave the station with him? I mean, those with high rates probably rather tend to be illegal, but can I determine that before accepting the mission?

Look at the adjectives that describe the passenger in the mission details.

So many questions about mission details recently - has everyone forgotten how to read?

How to read, how to use Google, or any basic search function. Maybe reading isn't being taught in school anymore? Reading comprehension definitely isn't taught.

I'm happy to answer questions anytime as apposed to more common posts of
"nothing said it was illegal! Why do I have a bounty?!!! This is stupid!!!!!"

Asking for clarification is definitely preferable.

Yes something useful in any missions is “this can be considered illegal…” in a red font to be considered before taking the job.

However in defense of the n00bs there is too much info and people is lazy to read and I assume the red font is to highlight an important detail, however red over black instead of highlight the text is lost a little, perhaps in yellow or other font would be better

I knew my passenger was illegal in the Federation because she was a CRIMINAL MASTERMIND. Took her touring for 400LY for a big payout. Just as I was about to dock, right in front of the docking port, I got scanned, and we got spaced. Grrrrr. Contract cancelled. I forgot about silent running! One of the finer moments of this game.

Well, maybe something in the mission details slipped by my attention. I would not really believe that, though I also won't swear an oath. Can't check it, of course, because my ship and me and my rich tourist (not a criminal mastermind) were blown to dust right before the station entrance. Yes, I have seen he was illegal - AFTER I left the starting station ... But okay, going to check twice next time.

in the lower right corner of your HUD, it will say "illegal Passenger" or "Illicit Cargo" or "Wanted" in red text.

Yes, AFTER you leave the station.

By the way, just for the fun of it I just logged in for a moment and checked the passengers in my current station. There were several totally nice rich tourist guys, and, indeed, one rich tourist with the notice he might be illegal somewhere. Well, I guess I really overlooked such a remark last time. So sorry I bothered some of you with stealing their precious time ...

You will see a line in the mission description that says "passenger may be wanted in multiple systems."

Heat sinks are your friend. If you get a scan warning, use one immediately. Reduces your heat signature to nothing, the station police lose their lock and can't finish the scan. No more turning off your shields or getting shot to bits outside the station.
The same applies to any other type of smuggling.

Also watch out for those who don't like being scanned. They really get upset if you get scanned.

Just do Robigo (Mines, outpost) - Sothis run with D-module+FSD engineered Python, get each 2 jump/10 min run 20-25 mil from A LOT of criminals ,with some rich tourists, because security won´t give a whopping deal there to scan you (unless you crash into asteroid field of a ring in Robigo and they come to investigate).

That's an interesting hint. Thanks.
