You can also search on EDSM (and maybe EDDB.io) to find nearest fleet carriers.
I've looked on the EDSM site, but can't find anything on there, how do you actually find the nearest fleet carrier?
I've gone to the advanced search and under the government dropdown there is one for Fleet carrier, but nothing is returned within 5000 of my location, middle of bubble.
Is this how you search for them ?
Go onto the galactic map, white filter, top right, "deep space outposts" it includes fleet carriers, in fact nearly all of them are carriers.
Also remember to change "Sort by" to distance from commander position.
I just did a search saying i was at beagle point, returned 12500 fleet carriers, 3 of which are at Beagle Point.
Just done for my home system. It lists 2 there. I think that might be right. There's definitely at least one, mine :D
Good tip!

Although... Presuming you've been using this stuff a lot longer than me, it only shows the carriers of people using EDSM themselves right? Like at the moment I know there's half a dozen in the formidine at least but none on the map. Many other places too.
Yes, that is the problem with 3rd party tools / sites, lack of user usage so you have to take them with a pinch of salt. The problem I'm finding with EDSM is the lack of "Last Updated on" dates, that way if it was last week then maybe it's ok, if it's 3 months old, then maybe not.
Thanks for pointing out the setting on the map, would never have guessed that included FC.
Yes, it populated it from my profile (I'm running both EDMC & EDD) Max distance was 500, I'm still in the starter system so guess not many near this area.
Some stuff on EDSM also apparently hasn't been updated in 18,000 days lol which I'm pretty sure is a bit.... Off. By a few decades.
It might only show those that are part of the DSSA, not every FC.
That could be from people making manual inputs or from bugs in the various 3rd party apps people use.
As long as you have an API key, you can insert info with whatever date you want. I did it to insert some old entries that i had from before i signed up for EDSM and to insert them with roughly the right date rather than adding them as new entries.
With interactive map with markers of DSSA FC.
Site is full of other informative maps.
Yeah EDSM doesnt have any of my data from more than a few months ago and uploading it from files seems complicated and slow so I've just left it. I figured, back then I was in the bubble anyway so any data from back then would be fairly pointless to us all in the long run.
Looks very detailed. Thanks for sharing.
