Elite Dangerous

NPC fighter crew member keeps getting profit while inactive
I hired this guy a while ago, and set them inactive to do other stuff, then I come back and he has netted 66mil profit hahahahaha

Anyways, I should've read that tiny letters no the contract lol (honestly, that info is no where in game as usual)

Remember to fire them as soon as you are done with their services cmdrs!! :-D

Fired crew don't level up and don't perform well enough

Only fire crew if you are not training them. I have two elite NPC, and they're definitely worth the 10% tax (each)

At least they were, I heard that NPC crew got (Unintentionally) nerfed, so now their AI is stupids.

Inactive crew members still collect that percentage. The only way to get them to stop is to fire them, but if you do that you lose them and any experience they've accumulated. Keep in mind that if you level up a harmless NPC to elite from scratch, he will only take 10%. If you level up one of the higher level NPCs, they end up taking more than 10%. Its based on what level they start at.
Yes, I understand the whole level them up, the problem is that I don't really use them that often. And if an absolute waste having them collecting 7% off my profits when inactive, and I didn't know that.

I leveled up this one from Novice to Competent, and I know that way they take lower percentage of the profit, but it takes too darn long as well.

And I still feel inactive crews shouldn't keep getting same percentage, is crazy lol lesson learned, is a shame you can't put them on "hold"

If you don't use them often, then settle for expert level ones you hire when you need them. They are not great though.

Elite pilots are where the fun is at.

I don't understand why its a problem though. I've literally seen people complain because their pilot has earned 1 billion without and sense of irony, because it means that they have earned 10 billion.

It doesn't take too long to level them up. It took me about maybe a day at a HazRes to get my pilot from harmless to expert.

Is more the Principle than the actual amount :-)
I wish I could take them in a Wing at least, I'll provide the ship and all the outfitting, NPC wing would be nice.

Don't buy a Fleet Carrier - it's even worse in this department. :)

Yeah, its a feature i'd love to see being able to give my NPCs access to my other ships and fly with me. Alas, i doubt it will ever happen. If ED had been an offline/single player game, i think we might have got it, but as long as it is online, devs can always point to the fact that you can go into open or PG and wing up with other players.

Seriously, if you fly any combat ship with a fighter bay as your primary attack ship, having one crewmate with fighters is definitely worth it. The fighters are about as strong as a large hardpoint, or a few are equivalent to some huge hardpoints in some configs (The fixed Multicannon Condor for example)

Use fixed fighters for the Aimbot AI (The Guardian fighter with the Gauss is decent too because of this). Unless the rumors I've heard is actually true, and FD messed up the hireling AI, they were always incredible assets on the battlefield, both as a distraction (Like when engaging wings) and as raw DPS.

They are amazing, can't say I've ever seen my pilot do anything stupid, would need some examples to confirm anything but yeah, if you get a fighter able ship, they are a major asset.

At one time I had an Elite pilot that had made over 900 million, sadly she was killed by Thargoids before her escape pod was installed in my ship.....
