Do i need detailed surface scanner after scanning the ring (mining)

currently wasting a lvl 4 slot for it, do i need to keep it in order to know where my mining hotspot is, or i can exchange it for something else and mining hotspot will still show up?

If you don't intend on using it any time soon, yes you should drop it.

You must have the DSS installed to see the hotspot, even if you already probed the ring. Without the DSS on your ship, the hotspot will not be shown.

is there any way for me to save the coords of my hotspot so that i'll know where it is? something like bookmarks for coords or even writing coords on paper if possible?
