Hopefully Fdevs get money for any copy we claim. I will claim one and never download it in that horrendous platform.

haha, lol, yes,.... ^^THIS!

// on a serious note, no one can argue that against lifetime pass owners paying 240€ for that, right?!! (60€ Game + 180€ LEP) //
I bought game and life time expansion pass and it has been best purchase ever, no regrets even if people now get it now free.
Next expansion most likely will not be free anyways so we will see.

Well, i guess their analysts calculated, that they would win more Players on EPIC than they would actually loose on Steam cause of foul buisiness practices.

Ohh and btw, no Steam VR and WMR support on EPIC...

That's false. I play VR games on Epic, even SteamVR games on my Windows Mixed Reality headset as well as my Oculus Quest 2 through Virtual Desktop and through Oculus Link.

This. Only I'm signed into a vpn with a junk email i don't use for anything else. They won't get anything from me.

Epic loves to ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan about how they are needed to compete with steam (when they weren't) then they take titles so the customer has no choice but to use them, the very antithesis of being competitive.

Not for that, but for their bad behavior. Like "stealing" at the last moment Steam-promoted games to their own platform, and making it 1 year exclusive, to be sold only on Epic.

If I needed another Elite copy (and I already have 2), $10 is something that I can afford to spend without thinking much. Free on Epic is too expensive for my taste. I would rather pay for the ability to avoid that store.

I've been on the fence with Elite since it was launched. I saw some of the DLCs, and some kind of Frontiers or Horizons re-release or something?, and I still never took the plunge. Seems really promising, hopefully it's fun solo and not dull. I'm glad I didn't so that I can just get the game for free on EGS and try it without a hassle. Can't believe how much stuff they give away to try to lure people in.

It just uses steams download CDN not the login api. You still need a Frontier account.

I've been on the fence about ELITE for several years, until I decided to give it a shot this year.
Easily my best find in 2020, over 600 hours clocked.
I'd say this game needs a mindset.

These two videos nudged me towards purchase:

I'll be picking up a second account so I can be an opportunist pilot again and delve into piracy and being a merc without worrying for my main account reputation, who's an explorer and scientist.

For the record, I don't blow up player's ships. I just like to tease and get and give a thrill.
Maybe they drop some cargo, maybe they don't. It's not worth it blowing them up, whichever side I look at it. Still don't understand people who do that
