Horizons will be free Woohoo!
Unless you havent opened your library lately on the Elite dangerous Game page then most will know this. Horizons will be free from late October. So excited although I havent done any mission apart from Courier work. I must admit even a simple assasination mission seems daunting to me.

Nothing will stop people from complaining.
So don't say it's impossible to please us.

People are complaining over someone else getting something for free. Want a discount on Odyssey? Don't go to Starbucks today. Don't buy a pizza. Don't have a beer. Look at how much money you saved!

If you feel slighted over a $5.99 (or whatever local currency you use) product now being free, I've got bad news for you if you ever buy a new car. Or really anything that isn't a collectible item.

Please everyone? You must be new to the internet. Or life in general.

Yeah, it just so happened that they announced it after the sale, not before.
Coincidence doesn't equal causation. But believe what you want to believe, if it makes you feel better (or in this case - worse).

On an unrelated note, would you be interested in purchasing a bridge?
I already have one in Brooklyn, thank you.

I'm curious, do you recall what type of sale? Daily Deal, Weekend Deal, Midweek Madness?

Those sales are created and managed by Valve, not Frontier.

I think this all boils down to people being upset over something that really is unimportant in the grand scheme of things because they need somewhere to vent (let us Face it we are All in Life's handbasket together) I would remind our neighbors that while trying to alleviate stress over things of import and the Petty is an understandable action it is Uncouth, to say in the least, to transfer that stress to others. In short: Suck it UP. Do your homework and Stop whining. :steamsalty: = 0

Thank you, and Good Day. ;)

I'm going to need some evidence for that. Valve being able to arbitrarily lower the price of games, 70% of which goes to the dev/publisher, seems unlikely.

LMAO, now it's my fault people are upset about my opinion of FDev's business practices?

That section explicitly states that seasonal sale discounts have to be submitted by the publisher. I doubt there isn't a similar opt-in/opt-out system for other types of sales. Even if there isn't, nothing was preventing FDev from placing a notification on the top of the product page telling users that the product was going to be made free a short time after the sale.

The last sale listed on steamdb was Thursday the 27th - 30th August, what season is that again?

August is summer, what's your point? I never said the sale was or wasn't part of a seasonal event.
57 1/out./2020 às 8:24
No, you said it was a scumbag move to put it on sale before the announcement to get as many sales as possible.

Clearly the last sale was curated by Valve as a weekend deal, not by Frontier.

However, I agree with you it should mention it going free on the storepage.

I have seen no explicit statement from Valve that they force sales on publishers. I have seen an explicit statement that seasonal sales must be opted-into. I suspect that there is a similar opt-in/opt-out mechanism for all other sales event that are curated by Valve.

Oh, it does state it on the storepage.

Elite Dangerous: Horizons is becoming FREE for all players on 27 October 2020 via an update to Elite Dangerous. The separate Horizons expansion will be removed from sale on 26 October 2020. Players who own Elite Dangerous: Horizons before 27th October 2020 will receive an exclusive Azure paint job for all ships in game.
ianmarian 1/out./2020 às 8:33
i don't need a xxx paint job, i want at least 50% discount for next dlc.

Did that statement appear before or after the sale? Rhetorical question, it appeared after the sale, so it's irrelevant to my point.
