I fail to see how honk and system map is any more or less keystrokes than honk and fss scanner.
The system map you could see a pictorial representation of the planets (IMO some of the water worlds were at times similar to others), the fss scanner you can clearly see the different individual frequencies that signify water worlds or earthlikes (if each line represents 1, they are at 65-70 on the scanner).
and now there is more to do than before.
before honk and then fly and scan. simple and easy.
now honk then use a second joystick to scan all planets but not too close to the main star.
as the main star can block your scanning
then once you scan every thing you still need to prob all planets to get 100% scan of system.
finding geological site easy is cool.
but planets are darker making those pic's you take not that great" have to wait at the planet's surface for it to rotate to take a picture in the day. which could take a long time to get that nice picture.
on a good note you can scan a whole system quicker saving you flying out to those planets that are 400,000ls away 2hours fly time
hope the payout is better currently i am in the abyss so looking forward to what i got in discovery's
but over all not a fan, need two joysticks to play one game in VR
Just scanning 20 of these planets can net you millions as a final payout.
That is the only gripe I have with the new FSS. It reveals if a planet is a terraforming candidate, but you have to open System map to see this info because it is not shown in the FSS's summary. So I usualy scann all bodies and then check sys map if there is a terraformable. Mapping a terraforming cadidate pays around 1mio +/- depending on class of planet.
Flying to the bodies and mapping them with probes gives you additional payout on top of the scans. That should definitely be done with earthlikes, water worlds and other highly payed objects since the mapping payout seems to be based on the scan value of the body. I usually leave everything below terraformable high metal bodies unmapped because it's no longer worth it flying over to those (when it comes to credits I mean, taking beatiful screenshots is quite another thing :P)
