what is high wake

I was in an ice belt and sometimes I saw high wake for those who protect us.
What is it?
They are white

[Dolphin Bottlenose]

Jumping to another star system (requires a 15sec Frameshift Drive spin-up).
Low-wake is going to supercruise in the same star system.

Those wakes are engine trails. You can scan them with a wake scanner (installed separately), and follow those ships.

Some of those scans also give you data materials, required for engineering.

Sometimes the devs even add something new into the game without telling anybody, making even us veterans go "what in the galaxy is this?"

Like when the goids first made an appearance, that poor commander needed a new flight suite after that.
