But nothing to be done about it. I just have to get myself a jumper Diamondback Scout again and do it the old fashioned way of exploring everything. for a couple of hours.
Thanks for the answers though.
Anyways, the simple way to make money is just to run a few transport missions in your sidewinder, (maybe data transport) till you can afford a Cobra. Then outfit it for core mining and mine for void opals or low temp diamonds till you can afford a keelback or AspX. Do more core mining with that till you can afford a Krait or Python and core mine with that till you're rich again.
Jack's suggesting of overlapping painite hotspots might generate more money if you can find one and have a decent size cargo hold, but in a small ship you need to go for stuff that's got a high value per ton. It's common for opals to sell for 650 to 750k each and they can sell for up to 1.6m.
Low temp Diamonds often sell for 500k each and it's not unusual for them to sell for 950k.
As for using cheats to generate money, you're probably not going to get much sympathy on that since you gave away your fortune and now want to make yourself rich again with no effort.
Also, next time you've got a friend that wants to play together, there's nothing stopping an advanced player from flying a small ship with their friends. You could also be more help to him by being rich as you can easily give him a boost with your better ships. (multicrew combat, abandon a few mil worth of cargo for him to pick up)
Instead of going down to his level, help him get up to yours.
Well, I shall try my luck with mining then. Seems like something that would go faster than R2R. Thanks for the answers!
Also, if you've already got friends on the PC that play, why not just join them? There's nothing that says a group can only be 2 people. Some of the multicrew ships even support 3 players. and I know wings can be at least 4.
Then go here: http://edtools.ddns.net/miner
Plug in the system you are currently at and it will give you locations with overlapping painite hotspots. Literally roughly every 2 or 3 rocks has loads of painite. Void opals are more complicated to mine and they really aren't as profitable as an overlapping painite spot.
I can fill 512 tons in my Cutter in maybe 2 or so hours. That link also shows you the closest places to sell as well. I am getting roughly 400 mil per trip in the Cutter. If you get a type 6 you will be able to upgrade to a better ship very very fast......
Edit: you need a detailed surface scanner too in order to find the hot spots once you get to the system. But the link tells you exactly which ring and planet to check out....
My suspicion is that they will leave this for a while though. I am thinking this is in the game so people can earn enough money for the Fleet Carriers coming in December. But that’s just a guess.
Also YouTube “overlapping Painite”. Lots of good info there too. Hope you get back on your feet soon. 😀
