I have VA and use EDDI with it. I use the EDDI triggers to send information about what I'm doing so that VA can read it, then do something to react to it and/or say something.
For example, when I pop out of SC close to the station, after a quick boost, you hit the no fire zone of the station. This is recognized by the EDDI trigger, and sent to VA. VA then automatic executes my command for asking to dock, all without me saying anything.
Taking off from a station, as soon as the docking clamps are released, EDDI triggers VA, which then brings up my gears. I don't have to say a word, it just does it then says something like 'the gears are now up' or whatever I type in.
I have loads of voice commands too, ones where I say one thing and get a reply with 3 or 4 options, allowing me to say what I want, which is then executed.
But the triggers are thoroughly fantastic and immensely satisfying if you spend a bit of time with them, getting them to work perfectly:)
Any good tutorials on setting it up?
I do use Riply Galactic KICS. I dont use the default binds, I use my own, It can be time consuming setting everything up, but totally worth it.
I start all my profiles from scratch. I remember what to say much better.
I've got ASTRA and good old Bill Shatner to keep me company, and can freely switch profiles as and when I want, but I've been using the Amy voice from Ivona. It's the Astra voice as far as I can tell, but the important thing is that it allows you to write your own responses. Voice packs are good, but limit the feedback. Writing your own is much more satisfying and comedic too.
I'd look into EDDI if you're enjoying voice attack, it takes it up a notch and gives a nice level of interaction, allowing you to perform some procedures semi automatically, which is quite enchanting after hundreds of hours playing.
Edit, sorry I did not see your last post, Liduska77.
Cheers for the info :)
but ill give you quickie :)
At the top of VA hover over the icons till you find "edit profile" click it.
This will be your profile.
click new command at the top
The "when i say" part is what you will say,
so type "deploy hardpoints"
Click "key press" on the left hand side
hit the key you use to deploy hardpoint, I think its "u"
Click "other" then "sounds" then "say something with text to speech"
Type "depoying hardpoints"
Click "OK" then "apply"
Your done!
BUT!! before this you will have to setup speech recognition in widows
Controle panel/Speech recognition. I recommend going through it all at least twice.
but once your done, youre good to go.
There are voice pack you can d/l instead of using the text to speech as well, kics is a free one
but there are onse you can buy as well.
It really is worth the effort!
full throttle
boost
target next system in route
jump
short pause
mute sound for high frequency countdown
unmute
remove HUD until jump is complete
short pause
reactivate HUD
full throttle
hold key to scan system
I also have a key that blasts a fog horn that shakes my chair.
It is not heard on the server but friends hear it in my microphone.
Another great one is an instant wall of insulting text for attackers, It pauses, then messages more strange text. This is a great distraction to opponents but I do not use it as I fly completely pacifist but it was fun to make and test.
I have another that toggle engine color to leave a dotted trail.
Another does thrust up and down repeated so the ship moves in place when sitting.
You can make other set repeat moves for when AFK.
One summer I made a complete AI for my PC, gave it attitude, got tired of answering to my PC and don't use it now.
Get creative, VA is an awesome cheap tool. Great for Skyrim shouts and ARK dino commands too.
Voice Attack is one thing, a program, from one company.
Voice packs are a different thing, made by another company, but the packs run on the voice attack software.
You can buy voice attack, and dont need to buy a voice pack.
If you dont buy a voice pack, you need to use text to speech. This means you will hear the voice of your PCs selected voice. These, as standard, are usually quite irritating.
Most people either buy a voice pack - you can get some nice voices to use - or buy a new voice for their PC.
Voice attack can react to your voice, or a button push. You need to write your own commands to say or select a button to push.
You can get profiles to import to voice attack. These are pre programmed commands that require you to memorize what the commands are, but they are all written for you.
It is not difficult to write commands. Start by selecting new command, tick when I say, then type activate lights. In the main box below that, click on the left option bar to push a button. Push L (default for lights). This instruction appears in the main box. Next, select pause, for a second or two to put a little time between the action and the voice feedback, it flows better with a small pause. Then, from the options to the left of the main box, select say something with text to speech. Type lights now on or similar. Then click done. Test to make sure it works (if you open the note pad first, and click the mouse on it as if you were going to type on it, then say the command, the letter L should appear on the note pad, to confirm it works...or just test in game). If you have a voice pack, instead of selecting say something with text to speech, select play a sound. Then navigate in the newly opened window to your voice pack and select an appropriate response. Then save.
Build your commands from there, using voice attack forums and YouTube vids. You get nice ideas from there.
EDDI is a different thing, linked in to voice attack, but wouldn't advise that until you are a bit experienced with voice attack first.
Any questions, just ask.
Not sure what you mean. If you re phrase it, I'll try to answer it.
the only link i can find is this one,
