2 - Vulture = The best small ship for combat in the game, hands down
3 - Chieftain = Top ship for pve and pvp
4 - Krait mk.2 = Fun jack of all trades ship
5 - Federal Corvette = It looks like a star destroyer so...
2. Krait Phantom - if Corvette is a Star destroyer then this one is a Millenium Falcon, also great (maybe even the best) explorer.
3. Cobra Mk3 - An icon, a trademark ship of Elite, like Snake to Metal Gear, or Shepard to Mass Effect.
4. T9 - continuing with movie references, it reminds me of Nostromo from Alien, bulky and moves like a brick, but that's kinda the point. Can be very fun if equipped with fighter bay. And docking computer is completely justified in this case.
5. Sidewinder - because you'll never forget your first girl... Wait, that does not sound right, but you know what I mean, it's a metaphor, like you may not love her, but she loves you so much, that you just can't stand and surrender and sometime later this relationships become really creepy and uncomfortable, then you ditch her and feel like a complete jerk afterwards. It's all a metaphor about fictional spaceships, of course, I'm just goofing around
2. iCutter - mission cargo runs.
3. Asp Explorer - the best explorer.
4. Orca - anything illegal it does, in style.
5. Dolphin - just fun to fly.
1) Cobra MK III : First real multirole ship in the game, historic, fun but fragile
2) Asp Explorer: Bubble bus, or exploration, cheapish and multirole, 6 hardpoints, good jump range
Cobra and Asp Ex are probably the most 'out of the box' fun ships in the game.
3) Krait MK II: Flexible, and deadly. Very survivable multirole, serious teeth (horizons required) really shines when engineered. stock it is kinda sluggish, Engineered it can melt corvettes like nothing,
4) Krait Phantom (horizons required,) Fast and good jumprange, but lacks weapons vs mk II variant. Shines when engineered. Fast and deadly, fun to fly (low altitude flight is very fun in this ship)
5) Anaconda: King of the multi role, It is a heavily armed space caravan for when you need to take one of everything on an exploration vacation. Good balance of Combat vs cargo space. Utility mounts for days (room for shield booster and all the scanners...)
6) Fed Corvette: Mission runner, and more combat focused version of conda (requires rank unlock)
Space Garbage:
1) All filthy imperial ships (slavery is wrong and so is using a ship built using slave labor)
2) FDL and Mamba and Vulture: too combat focused for my tastes, and vulture is kinda a glass cannon
3) T9,T10: space cow, not fun to fly at all. crap jump range
4) T7: needs large landing pad, is made of tinfoil, a space coffin waiting to happen.
2. Cutter - 2nd best multipurpose ship;
3. Krait II - dual combat and explorer;
4. Orca - best explorer imo;
5. FAS - working on an AX combat ship...
A list of bad ships that leaves out the Asp Scout: Fail
"Care for some Centauri Mega Gin?" Oh, wait, you can't have any... ;)
2) Cobra Mk4
3) Viper Mk3
4) Federal Dropship
5) Imperial Clipper
As for Crimson Echo dissing the Type 7, its one of the best exploration ships in the game.
Seriously?? Or you just want to put it 2nd for rarity
I do not make a habit of traveling 0.21 ly for that hutton rot gut when lavian brandy is available only a few jumps away. Now the mugs on the other hand those are kinda worth getting at least once... To each their own i guess.
more seriously:
Winging up with a small or medium ship solves this issue nicely. (drop a few void opals and get my hold full of gin) (this used to work, but have not tried it lately, and is dependent on other players being available so ymmv)
Running missions to outposts is a minor issue, Usually use a krait mk II for that since it can run an slf.
Dissing the T7 is a reference to MB's book...one of the characters rips into the T7 as a piece of garbage not self respecting pilot would fly.
