For smaller FSD's like... Class 3 and smaller I think? You're better off using the Fuel Injection one.
I think the breaking point is around Orca or iClipper. I tried both on one of them, and the difference was like 0.01 Ly.
Striped down will not come closely to the other 2 experimental. In fact i don't know any reason to use that particular mod on an FSD at all.
Tools like coriolis.io will help you finding the right modifications and experimentals for you.
Thanks, this was really helpfull :)
I've tried splitting them but honestly, the difference was absolutely marginal.
For the size 5 FSD, always get the pre-engineered one and add mass manager to it. That covers three of the most common explorer ships. (DBX, Phantom, AspX) and the Conda is over size 5 anyway.
For the other ships, not used for exploration, a tiny bit of range makes no difference. Apply whichever of the two experimentals you have the most available materials for.
You would also choose the fast charge, because it doesn't add mass. Shielded is an option for Goid combat since it's the only mod that provides thermal efficiency.
But for day to day life? Mass manager and Deep charge.
