multicannon experimental effects
im trying to figure out which experimental effects i should apply to my anaconda multicannons for pve. i have a 4A, 3C, and two 2Fs, with corrosive on one of the 2Fs. i currently have thermal shock on the huge multicannon but im not sure how much it's helping, especially because it reduces damage by 10%. suggestions greatly appreciated

Thermal shock is trash. Especially for PVE where NPCs don't really have the same heat mechanics players do. (I think they only take Hull damage from overheating, which requires 200% Heat)

Auto-Loader, Corrosive, Oversized(NEW) and Multi-Servos(NEW) Are the only decent Experimentals for multis I think.

I think multicannons for anaconds is not very good choice cause multicannons must be used quick and on close range, good choice for fast assault ship like FDL but bad for slow ships.

Use auto loader. It has no disadvantages for the extra dps you get.

You've actually got it kind of backwards. Lasers scale damage horribly at range, so Kinetics like Multis are actually much better at long range.

That said, I think most big ships do best if they engineer Long-Range multicannons for the additional projectile velocity, so they can snipe and bombard from otuside of 1.5km.

I engineered Rapid Fire for the two huge multi cannons on my corvette. The DPS is devestating, once I bring down the shields the target is shredded with a few rounds.

Not all take a fight on long ranges. Also if its pvp I think 80% use multicannons so u can eng u shields and armour against kinetic damage or I don't know mb lev 5 of Heavy duty military armour is more effective than kinetic resistance.

For PVE - I recommend 3 Large MC's all with overcharged, all with corrosive shell, put efficient beams all with thermal vent on the remaining hardpoints - It kicks PVE butt very quickly and very effectively The beams strip their shields and the MC's will rip the hull and armour to pieces. you will need a bit of pip management though to do it effectively.

It'd be nice to hear from CaptainKINGPIN, and FunkynutZ, they also seem knowledgable when it comes to combat ;)

The corrosive effect doesn't stack, so using it on more than one MC is a waste of special effects.

And Scramble Spectrum are stack or not? My favorite.

It's not to stack, it's to make sure that one is always hitting the hul, through things like reloading, targetting, etc.... Not such a waste afterall.. Quickly and efficiently.

nope, it just increases the chances of a critical hit, once you score a hit you wont get another until the timer for the first is depleted (the effect)..

I was thinking about a dakka build for a conda once.
If you dont mind the range go with efficient and incindiaries.
For more range just swap efficient out for Long Range. I would stick to the incindiaries though. But if you want unlimited dakka you might as well stack autoloader on all of your MC Turrets.
I have not quite tested it yet but in an Anaconda you could maybe sit around with 4 pips in SYS and 2 in WEP an keep firing non stop.
For your Huge hardpoint or "Main Armament" you coudl go for a PA or anything that is gimballed for convinience.

Still a question. Does Thermal Shock stack ? If yes wouldnt that make it a great "bleed" dmg type in PVP ?
Long Range + Thermal Shock on all turrets and just hit a button to release the river of endless burning dakka ?

I went with autoloading, sure would like to try the incendiary.

But it is nice to have it keep firing, as it would always stop to load at the least favorable moments.

On my Chieftain I have a large beam (soon to be engineered for efficiency I hope, but I have to unlock a beam engineer and have no idea how that goes yet) then a large MC 9G5 with Aultoloading) then seeker missles or whatever.

I unlocked Selene so I want to upgrade the hull and armour.

The FSD, and everything else.
