The good news is, FSD range is probably one of the easiest things to engineer to grade 5 in the game. Felicity Farseer is really easy to unlock and the only grade 5 materials you need are Datamined Wake Exceptions, which are easy to farm :)
Ugh I hope he plays in solo/private. Doing Robigo runs in open can be hell even if there aren't trolls about.
Why bother with the wanted passengers? I just board flip until I have a full ship of rich tourists. Worst thing they ever want is for me to pick them up some consumer electronics... but they can suck it up.
Also @AheeeBob, a good tip is, for your first few trips, skip the cash and take the reward that gives you increased reputation. The idea is to get allied with the stations in Robigo as fast as possible, because then they start giving you missions worth WAY more money.
