CANT CONNECT TO FRONTIER SERVERS
I downloaded the game and played for 3 days with no problems, then when i came to connect the next day i got the following message :-

CANT CONNECT TO THE FRONTIER SERVERS.
Your connection to the Frontier Servers has been lost. The game may have been suspended. Please try again.

So i tried about 20 times and could never connect.
I have been all round the Frontier help pages and tried everything i could find but nothing works.
I have tried turning off firewalls & virus killers, turned off the NVIDIA game recording as that was suggested and everything else that i could find.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing that made no difference.
I don't understand why it would work one day and not again.
Hopefully someone has an answer and i am missing something obvious !!!!

I had this issue mostly when I started the game via steam " elite dangerous horizon" after that via launcher I could only choose "play"

now I click in steam "elite dangerous" and in the launcher "elite dangerous horizon"

Once a week they go offline on Thursday morning for about half an hour for weekly maintenance. Besides that, they usually only go offline if there's an update (some updates are purely server side).

Have you selected the correct network controller ingame?
(options - network)

You can also try deleting appconfig/local.xml in game library, and verify files.

Quite a few people have had to "log out machine" top right of launcher.

There is an advanced troubleshooting that involves flushing the DNS cache AOT;
you can find my guide here on steam.

cheers

I'm getting "Invalid Machine ID" when I try to log in. Cannot get past the initial shaders/planet generator screen.

So its not just me having issues connecting to the servers. I thought I was going insane. Anyone else getting the "invalid machine ID" message everytime?

Well, I just bought Elite Dangerous a couple hours ago. The game has apparently been running for about 1.5 hours now but I am not in the game. I'm new to Steam and Frontier. I see a 'STOP' button, but the game does not stop. Apparently the 'Link' to Frontier failed as I got a single word during the link 'Forbidden'. Can't Link, can't Stop, can't logout of my Steam account until the game is stopped. Rebooted, but the game apparently is still running.

If anyone knows what to do, please help.
Thanks

EDIT: Maybe I should start a new thread?

The launcher did not have the 'Options' to log off in any way. After the reboot I found this thread. I now see the game icon on my desktop so I started it. The 'log out machine' option is now there so I selected that. Then going to the 'Library' where ED is running I was then able to use the 'STOP' button. Okay, figured that part out, now, linking to Frontier . . . but the servers may still be nerfed.

The "Options" are on the top right of the launcher; even the older versions had this.
(line of text below "Welcome XYZ")
we were unable to restore your user session?
what is this?
