Longest jump with engineering
Hi guys. Just curious, what's the longest jump ever achieved with engineering and in what ship is it done? Read in some discussion, 60+ly seems like the longest ever engineered?

70 is a pretty good baseline for an engineered ship, that gets quite a lot larger with jet cone boost and FSD injection.

The best jump though is a carrier for 500ly.

My Phantom is 68 loaded, DBX is 72.

Awesome! I gotta collect a lot more materials to reach those numbers

To be able to explore ANY star system in the game you need to be able to jump for 83,62 ly.
Guide how to create such ship:

https://s.orbis.zone/7ZTA lots of grind, but lots of PvE fun.

https://s.orbis.zone/7ZTI cheaper and faster alternative

Last I heard was 83lys from an Anaconda purpose built for that one jump, someone made a video about it sometime last yeah but don't remember who, the thing was completely stripped though and only had enough fuel to make the one jump, it's a nice thing to say your ship can jump that far but what do you do when you get there? You have none of the necessary gear onboard,

My DBX can do 68.6lys with a full fuel load and 73.3lys max, that's more then enough, I've had her to the farthest known point in the galaxy past Beagle Point and that only took a few medium grade FSD boosts to get there, neutron boosts are 293lys, anything more is just unnecessary, and all that is with the added weight of an SRV, repair limpet controller, shields, chaff, heat sink and even 2 pulse lasers, everything lightweight engineered that can be.

I still don't like the idea of grading modules down, flying barebone. I don't know, it feels wrong to me, but my Asp only jumps for 42ly aaaand well that's also not too great.

But jumprange only comes in play, I believe, if you want to reach a destination as fast as possible.

So I still fail to see the purpose for maxed jump range when I want to explore, without arriving anywhere special... still I will get the guardian FSD boost

Sometimes you need to get past a gap, either permit locked systems or just a big gulf between you and the next star.

With a jump range of 42, your best boost without a handy jetcone is 84 ly.

My 72ly DBX can jump an 144 LY gap.

If you stay in the middle of the disk, you will be fine, but head to the roof, floor or edges and you will find places to visit where you can not go.

In exploration theres rarely a need for A rated parts, there health is inconsequential outside of combat, plus you can just take an AMFU and make repairs if needed, the only things I have A rated are my FSD and my power plant as you cant repair it and the extra cooling is a bonus when refueling.

Obviously DBX is the favourite. How about ASP Explorer?

About 5 Ly shorter than the DBX.

82 with my anaconda, or rather my massive FSD that used to have a ship attached. I might be rounding up, it might be 81.xx

It has no dss, and the shield can't be turned on at the same time as the FSD but it got me to colonia

It's a bigger heavier ship with the same size jump drive, but if you want more room or a second seat then yeah it's good, I toyed around with an Asp on coriolis before deciding on the DB, set up the same it got 65.8lys, the Krait Phantom is another good one cause it's a bit lighter then the Asp, more room but only an increase up to 67.2lys, for the extra money and empty space inside it's not worth it, Asp has a better view as well.
